On Vanderpump Rules, Lala Kent has been feeling isolated, and the media spotlight on her in 2021 may be the reason why she feels that she's on the outside looking in. Due to a fresh breakup with Randall Emmett, it likely isn't easy for Lala to relive the tension with her season nine castmates.
Lala is known for her big personality and even bigger mouth. Her best friend (and one-time former lover) James Kennedy usually matched her energy. However, now that James and Lala are sober and living more mature lives, they don't have as much time for explosive arguments over "pasta." James has had some questions about Lala's breakup, and this season. she has been frustrated that the rest of the cast is calling her out frequently. James and Tom Sandoval have had a few tantrums so far, but only Lala has faced heat for her excessive commentary, and she thinks that there's a double standard.
Since the former protagonist Stassi Schroeder's exit, Lala has arguably been at the center of the media's focus more than anyone else in the cast. Lala can really hold the spotlight, and her ability to stay relevant may be the real season why she's getting the runaround from her friends. Lala and former fiance Randall Emmett spent time with the current "it couple" Machine Gun Kelley and Megan Fox after filming Midnight in the Switchgrass. Her Vanderpump Rules friends might think that she has a superiority complex. Lala's three years of sobriety might also make her feel different about her relationships with her castmates.
While Lala's concerns seem valid, Tom got into an argument with her at the dinner table, while girlfriend Ariana Madix stayed out of the fray, and deep into her wine glass. Tom is very invested in the bro code at all times and has taken a liking to Brock. However, Tom, always the diva, has a history of confronting women on the show whose lights shine as bright (or even brighter) than his. With all of the attention on Lala in the Vanderpump Rules revival era, Tom might be feeling a little threatened. He also likely isn't too thrilled that Lala took a jab at Ariana on her podcast for seemingly no reason. However, Ariana, always the logical peacemaker, has already made amends with Lala.
Ultimately, Lala has a big heart and does lead with love, even if it's coated with salt. The cast might benefit from hearing her out, as she has made some excellent points in the past. Hopefully, Lala can find her place on Vanderpump Rules and build more trust in her friendships with cast members.
Vanderpump Rules airs Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
