Warning! Spoilers for Symbiote Spider-Man: Crossroads #5 by Marvel Comics
One of the funniest Hulk moments from The Avengers (2012) was just recreated with Ikaris of the Eternals. In Symbiote Spider-Man: Crossroads #5 by Marvel Comics, Hulk, Ikaris, Spider-Man, and Black Cat take on the Karnilla the Queen of Norns. However, after they help take her down and pluck the Matrix Stone from her head, the Hulk gives Ikaris the same treatment he gave Thor in The Avengers, punching the hero in a hilarious fashion.
In the first team-up of the Avengers in their self-titled Marvel Cinematic Universe film, Hulk and Thor worked together during the Battle of New York as the Chitauri Army is unleashed. After using their combined strength to take down a Chitauri ship and send it crash-landing towards the ground, Thor and Hulk jump off the alien vehicle and strike a heroic pose. However, Hulk extends his arm during the moment and sends Thor flying with a massive hit. While Hulk might have been trying to do his version of a fist bump, the Jade Giant ended up delivering a powerful blow to the God of Thunder. The scene was hilariously unexpected.
In Symbiote Spider-Man: Crossroads #5 by Peter David, Greg Land, Jay Leisten, and Frank D'Armata, Spider-Man, Hulk, and Ikaris lead a final attack against Karnilla, Queen of the Norns, who has gained the powers of the Matrix Stone. The Hulk gets enraged after Karnilla calls him a "thing" but still proves to be no match for the superpowered villain. Ikaris uses his heat blast to stop her but doesn't have any luck either. Ikaris and Hulk don't relent in their attacks, but Karnilla is only defeated when Spider-Man and Black Cat use the Norns to call on Odin, who plucks the stone from her head and destroys it. Still angry from the fight, Hulk gives Ikaris a fist bump similar to the one he gave Thor in The Avengers.
Ikaris doesn't seem too upset by the attack, as he quickly recovers just as Thor did. Still, seeing the MCU Eternal hero get punched by the Hulk is not only a fun reference to The Avengers but is just a funny scene altogether.
In the end, Hulk and the Eternals' Ikaris helped lead the charge in the defeat of Karnilla. Both heroes are among the strongest in the Marvel Universe, so the punch ends up being more of a love tap than a kill shot. Still, seeing Ikaris get sent flying like Thor in The Avengers after Hulk's strike is absolutely hilarious. Symbiote Spider-Man: Crossroads #5 by Marvel Comics is in comic book stores now.
