On Sister Wives, Kody Brown's 18 kids do not always agree with the patriarch, and some of the children have talked about their issues with their father. From his oldest son Logan Taylor Brown, who is 27, to his youngest, Ariella Mae Brown, who is five, Kody's kids are very different from their dad. This means it's no surprise that they disagree with some of his opinions. Here is everything Kody's kids have said about him through 16 seasons of the show.
Kody's kids have been a Sister Wives focus since the series first aired in 2010, and they have not been shy in sharing their opinions over the years. Some of the older kids, Logan, Aspyn Kristine, Mariah Lian, Maddie Rose, Mykelti Ann, Hunter Elias, and Paedon Brown have already left the nest, so they are not featured on the show as often anymore. Certain children have complained that they do not feel like their voices are being heard by their dad in such a large family. In recent seasons, Kody has been planning to move the entire family to Coyote Pass, although that may be put on hold since he and his third wife Christine have separated. Sometimes, the kids have a problem with Kody because they want more quality time with their dad.
The kids have been put through several moves on Sister Wives, leaving Utah for Las Vegas, and then heading for Flagstaff, Arizona. There was a lot of arguing in the family because some kids were very opposed to moving, while others really looked forward to it. When Kody talked to Christine and "the triplets" about the move, no one was on the same page. Christine's fourth child Gwendlyn was indifferent to the move, saying she just wanted to get it over with, which won her praise from her dad. However, Robyn's daughter Aurora Brown was quiet on the issue. Janelle's son Gabe Brown had repeated that he did not want to move to Arizona at all, even calling his dad a "slave driver," and saying that he is not given a choice by his parents.
The pandemic posed a unique problem for the Browns, as they had to figure out the best way to quarantine in Flagstaff as such a large family. Each wife ended up quarantining separately with her respective kids, and Kody was the only one allowed to bounce around from house to house. Though this decision was called hypocritical by fans, some of the wives and kids also had a problem with Kody's strict COVID-19 rules. Janelle's son Garrison said that his relationship with his mom and siblings improved when they were under one roof, but added that he felt disconnected from the rest of the family since he was not allowed to see them.
Robyn and Meri have been most adamant about isolating, with Christine choosing to go out and travel with her kids. Janelle was somewhere in the middle, as she stayed at home but allowed some of her kids to leave the house and hang out with friends. Her kids Gabe, Garrison Brown, and Hunter Brown were the most outspoken about their dad's rules, saying that they disagree with him. Hunter said that socially distancing within their large family is stupid, but he respected that it was up to the parents to decide. Gabe hated having to choose between his girlfriend and seeing his dad, while also shading fourth wife Robyn by saying she was the real decision-maker. Fans will have to wait until January to see what else the Brown kids have to say about their dad on Sister Wives.
