John Cena has revealed that a new trailer for Peacemaker will drop next week. James Gunn's upcoming HBO series will follow on from the events of The Suicide Squad which was released earlier this year. Cena's character, Peacemaker, made his debut within the film where he appeared to meet his fate when Idris Elba's character, Bloodsport, shot him in the film's final act. However, an exciting end-credit scene revealed that Peacemaker would in fact pull through and that audiences would be seeing a lot more of Cena's hilarious anti-hero, only this time on the smaller screen.
As Peacemaker's January 2022 release draws closer and closer, audiences have been treated to a handful of teases for the eight-episode series. While much of what can be expected from the show has been kept under wraps, it's been confirmed that the series will see the silver-helmeted hero back in action, but this time he'll be working alongside the team at A.R.G.U.S (Advanced Research Group Uniting Super-Humans), who were also first introduced within The Suicide Squad. The series' first official trailer dropped at last month's DCFandome, where the series' release date was also officially confirmed.
Now, Cena has revealed that a brand new trailer for Peacemaker is just around the corner. Speaking at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, Youtube channel Enrico1271 shared a clip of Cena as he took to the stage in his full Peacemaker costume with the primary purpose of thanking fans for supporting his character and the upcoming series and to introduce an exclusive clip to the Comic-con audience. The Fast and Furious actor then confirmed that a new trailer will be released on Friday, December 3, before expressing his love for the series and urging fans to watch the trailer and spread the word.
The previous trailer gave audiences an incredibly exciting glimpse as to what can be expected of this upcoming series, all while giving very little away. The first Peacemaker trailer revealed that the series picks up almost immediately following The Suicide Squad's end credit scene and introduces a handful of new characters that are set to play an important role within the show. The highly-anticipated teaser also showcased the level of violence (and humor) that Peacemaker will have in store for fans.
There had been many calls for a second trailer as the series' official release rapidly approaches and so Cena's announcement will certainly be welcomed news for many. While it remains to be seen what exactly this new trailer will offer, with Gunn behind the wheel of this exciting project, audiences will likely be hoping to see a number of Easter Eggs and references when it drops next Friday. Anticipation for the series has truly kicked into a higher gear within recent weeks, and now there isn't long to go until Peacemaker's story is continued.
