Dopesick: Which Character Are You, Based On Your Zodiac Sign?

Hulu's important and compelling miniseries Dopesick follows a wide cast of characters as they navigate the United States Opioid Abuse Epidemic. Everyone from mine workers to doctors gets hooked on it, and it's almost impossible to break away. And it's all because of the sinister Purdue Pharma.

With all of these OxyContin pushers and the individuals chasing them, it's helpful to know where everyone stands. A great way to do this is by ascribing these pharmaceutical representatives, lawyers, police officers, and doctors a particular zodiac sign.

The fire sign is a go-getter no matter the cost. An Aries thrives in competition, as does Purdue Pharma representative Amber Collins.

Collins is successful in her work and makes it clear to the audience and Cutler that her job is sales, full stop. Once the OxyContin is out of her hands and in the hands of doctors (most of whom are overprescribing it, a fact of which Collins is well aware) she considers it a job done and washes her hands of the situation.

A Taurus sits back in luxury. That's where they're most comfortable, and they seldom deviate from it. They like nice food, serene music, and pleasant aromas.

Richard Sackler is an earth sign because he's been born into luxury. His family's wealth has made him basically untouchable and he'd do anything to retain that power. This includes selling poison to thousands of people with a reserved, but still present, smile on his face. Sackler is worse than any villain in co-star Michael Keaton's upcoming The Flash movie.

A Gemini is a workhorse who still exhibits a playful demeanor. Twins tend to be extremely curious and spontaneous individuals, and Drug Enforcement Agency official Bridget Meyer is certainly inquisitive.

Meyer is certainly work-oriented and will stop at nothing to get Purdue Pharma to at least admit wrongdoing. Meyer's mind is always running, and it's usually about her current investigation. She's also spontaneous and will jump at a work opportunity or lead without a second thought. Unfortunately, this may come at the cost of her marriage.

Cancers, the crab, seem cold at first. Grace Pell, Betsy Mallum's fellow mineworker (and girlfriend) comes across this way at first too. The Cancer opens up in time, though, and Pell again is the same way.

If a crab is reached, a gentle disposition that effuses compassion can be expected. Pell shows her heart when she comes to town (at the request of Mallum's mother). Even though Pell's parents think her sexual orientation is a choice, she comes to bat for someone she loves.

A Leo thinks they're the biggest person in the room. However, the lion is also someone that everyone wants on their team. This is because, while the Leo is seemingly just dramatic flair, they're also extremely loyal.

District Attorney John Brownlee is the one who opens the door for the investigation into Purdue Pharma. Just like Randy Ramseyer and Rick Mountcastle, Brownlee has agency in bringing the company down (as much as it could be).

Assistant U.S. Attorney Randy Ramseyer (John Hoogenakker in an outstanding performance) is logical in how he obtains information. A Virgo is much the same, as Virgos are practical and systematic in how they deal with life's issues and challenges.

Ramseyer is also like the earth sign in that he's extremely diligent. He wants to bring down Purdue because of what they're doing to countless people of all ages and there's nothing (ethical) he won't do to see that prospect come to fruition.

The Libra has an intense desire for harmony and fairness. Rick Mountcastle, the man who led the Justice Department's investigation into Purdue Pharma, certainly has an intense drive for justice (and to see balance brought back to the lives of those affected by OxyContin).

The cardinal air sign doesn't just want equilibrium in their work life, but in their life as a whole. This extends to matters of love and family. Mountcastle (unlike some other characters) seems to have found stability between healthy home life and productive work life.

Like in Will Poulter's best movies, the actor delivers a unique and excellent performance as Purdue Pharma representative Bill Cutler.

A Scorpio is somewhat of a mystery. They're deep thinkers but stay secretive about it. They're passionate and unafraid to show it, typically showing an excess of persistence while doing so. Cutler stays in the shadows at Purdue. At first, he reps Oxy with bravado and passion. In time, upon learning of the drug's true effects, he combats it persistently from within Purdue itself.

The Sagittarius is an adaptable, flexible sign. The archer also has the tendency to be very blunt, which leads to tense relationships with loved ones.

When it comes to her relationship with her daughter, Betsy, Diane Mallum's bluntness initially tarnishes it. When Betsy comes out to her mother, it's not her words that are blunt, but her utter lack of response. She won't look her daughter in the eye or say a word. In time, however, Diane comes around and is able to accept her daughter for who she truly is.

Ray McKinnon's sensitive performance as Jerry Mallum alone makes Dopesick a must-watch Hulu show in November. He plays the father to the troubled Betsy, and he displays Capricorn tendencies while interacting with her.

The Capricorn displays patience, perseverance, and dedication. Mallum is dedicated to his daughter, but it takes him a while to come around to patience. This is because he believes homosexuality is a choice. However, he's able to push past that (perseverance) and stand by his daughter while OxyContin ravages her from the inside (dedication).

Michael Keaton plays a somewhat different role in Dopesick than he did in the classic movie about drug useClean and Sober. While in that film he was a patient, in Dopesick his Dr. Finnix is essentially both doctor and patient.

As an Aquarius, Dr. Finnix is a healer. He's a humanitarian who was lied to by a major company and prescribed poison to some of his patients. Even after losing his medical license, Finnix only tries to make the lives of others better.

The Pisces are sensitive and display empathy to all around them. The zodiac's final sign is also wise. This applies to pleasure and pain, equally, which is, unfortunately, something that Betsy Mallum has in spades. Her pain has made her knowledgeable of the overarching Opioid crisis.

Pisces also can have a difficult time differentiating between fantasy and reality. Mallum was like this, in that she dreamed of moving away from her small mining town in order to make a better life for herself in a place that would accept her for who she is.
