CoD: Every New Multiplayer Map In Black Ops Cold War Season 6

Editor’s Note: A lawsuit has been filed against Activision Blizzard by the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, which alleges the company has engaged in abuse, discrimination, and retaliation against its female employees. Activision Blizzard has denied the allegations. The full details of the Activision Blizzard lawsuit (content warning: rape, suicide, abuse, harassment) are being updated as new information becomes available.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is gearing up to release its Season 6 of new content, and the update will be bringing three new multiplayer maps to the game. Black Ops Cold War marked a return to Treyarch's iconic Black Ops series started back in 2010, following the tale of protagonist Bell after being recruited by CIA officer Russell Adler to track down Soviet spy Perseus and prevent them from tipping the Cold War in the Soviet Union's favor. The game was set between the events of Black Ops and Black Ops II and saw the return of fan favorites Alex Mason, Jason Hudson, and Frank Woods to aid the player in their mission.

Black Ops Cold War continues the tradition established by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) by including a seasonal content system to add new meaningful updates to the game. Each season typically comes with a host of updates to the game, ranging from new guns and maps in Black Ops Cold War's multiplayer to expansions on the Zombies story for players to experience. Call of Duty: Warzone has also received updates during every season to help match the narrative and gameplay changes that Treyarch has been building over the past year.

Season 6 of Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone was detailed yesterday in a Call of Duty blog, with the new season set to close out the Cold War narrative leading up to Call of Duty: Vanguard's release in November. A host of changes to Warzone's Verdansk are coming in the new season, as well as the final Zombies map Forspoken before Vanguard picks up with its own Zombies tale. Season 6 will also feature some new additions to Black Ops Cold War's multiplayer, including three new maps set inside the mind of Russell Adler.

Billed as "one of the most unique map experiences in Call of Duty history," Deprogram is made up of fragments of Russell Adler's mind stitched together. The map features a number of Red Doors like the ones seen in Black Ops Cold War's campaign, and can be used to traverse across the map quickly. Utilizing these Red Doors should allow teams to get positional advantage in objective-based modes, or allow players to outmaneuver their opponents to up their kill count.

Amerika is described as a "Soviet recreation of an American Main Street," presumably found in a "secret military facility in the heart of the U.S.S.R." The map is described as being medium-sized and will see players fight through a replica of an American town that includes a theater, pizza joint, and identical creation of Modern Warfare 2's iconic Burger Town. Buildings seem set to provide plenty of close-range battles, while playing in the streets should allow for more long-distance encounters to balance things out.

Gluboko is the final map included in Black Ops Cold War's newest season, and is set to be the newest map where variants of the Gunfight and Face Off modes take place. The map is set "in the underground vault of the KGB headquarters," and this section of the Lubyanka Building's seems poised to allow for fast-paced combat scenarios as the action takes players "around and on top of the main briefing table." All three of these maps will be available at launch for Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War's Season 6.
