A huge advantage that Legacies had over many other new shows is that it premiered with a built-in fanbase as a spin-off of both The Vampire Diaries and The Originals. So, many of the cast members were guaranteed a boost in popularity even if they weren't in those prior series.
That has certainly been the case with their Instagram profiles. The majority of the actors on the series are just starting their careers, yet their social media presence is already impressive thanks to the following from the show. Combine that with some fun Instagram profiles and there's a reason these accounts are beloved.
10 Ben Levin (63.6K Followers)
Early on, Ben Levin was more of a supporting player on Legacies. He plays Jed, the alpha werewolf at the school who is known to be a bit impulsive and out to prove himself often. Starting with season 3, Jed became a bigger player and even was cast as Stefan in "Salvatore: The Musical."
On Instagram, Levin isn't all that active with less than 200 posts so far. However, he does share behind-the-scenes shots to promote the series and plugs his own music career with a Spotify link in his bio. Levin has also been an advocate for stopping Asian hate, which his followers appreciate.

Most of the cast of Legacies are younger actors and they are typically the ones who are most active on social media. However, Karen David is an exception, as the veteran performer stars in a recurring role as Emma, one of the school's guidance counselors and a witch.

One of the more important characters in the early stages of the show was Rafael. Played by Peyton Alex Smith, Rafael was the closest friend of Landon and a werewolf who joined the Salvatore School, making an immediate impact.
Peyton Alex Smith is among the most popular cast members on Instagram but he doesn't use the platform all that much. He only has five total posts and most so far are promoting his upcoming role in All American: Homecoming, another series on the CW Network.

It seems like many characters on Legacies have ideal counterparts from The Vampire Diaries. For MG, his is Stefan Salvatore, since he's a caring vampire who is also burdened by his ripper status, making him a vicious killer when he gets a taste for blood.
MG is played by Quincy Fouse and he's someone in the same vein as Peyton Alex Smith. He has many followers but only a handful of posts on Instagram. Fouse does share videos of his various talents, including music and a self-made Miles Morales origin story.

Giorgia Whigham is one of the more accomplished young actors in the cast. She has appeared in Shameless, The Punisher, 13 Reasons Why, and Scream, just to name a few shows. On Legacies, she showed up in a few episodes as Jade, a vampire who was banished to a prison world by Alaric.
Despite only appearing in a handful of episodes, Whigham is more popular than most cast members on Instagram. The beauty constantly shares photos with her friends and promotes the many TV shows that she works on.
4 Leo Howard (795K Followers)
A relatively new addition to the cast is Leo Howard, who joined in season 2 as Ethan, the son of Sheriff Mac. He's a human who attends Mystic Falls High School. In season 3, Ethan became more prominent as he formed a friendship alongside MG.
Like Whigham, Leo Howard is someone who gained their Instagram following from their prior work. He has appeared on Kickin' It, Logan, and Freakish in recent years. His account offers insight into his personal life and has great pictures with his dogs.

Two characters with a clear connection to the previous series are Alaric and Caroline's twin daughters. One of them is Lizzie Saltzman, played by Jenny Boyd. She's the more selfish of the siblings but Lizzie has grown into a better person since season 1.

The other half of the Saltzman twins is Josie, played by Kaylee Bryant. Josie is likely the most complex character on the show, dealing with always catering to her sister and the dark side of her impressive witch powers always calling to her. She's also beloved as a prominent LGBTQ+ character.
Although she isn't at the top of the list in terms of followers, Bryant is likely the Instagram queen among the cast. She is very active on the platform and even seemed to use it to officially come out as queer during Pride Month. She also advocates for Black Lives Matter and Stand Up to Cancer.
1 Danielle Rose Russell (2M Followers)
It makes sense that the show's protagonist has the most followers on Instagram. Danielle Rose Russell portrays Hope Mikaelson, which she first did during the final season of The Originals. Here, she leads the way as a witch/vampire/werewolf tribrid.
Although Russell has a large following of 2 million, she isn't as active as some of her co-stars. She only has 47 total posts and only one upload since June of 2020. Still, she uses the account to spread love and peace, which is welcome.
