90 Day Fiancé: Why Fans Question Tania Maduro's Passion For Witchcraft

Tania Maduro from 90 Day Fiancé has touted her affinity for all things witchy on the show and on her Instagram page, but some fans aren't convinced that she has an authentic devotion to witchcraft. As her relationship with Syngin Colchester is reportedly on the rocks, certain social media users are reading between the lines when it comes to Tania’s social media posts. These 90DF franchise fans want more insight into her love life. They are also wondering whether her witchcraft-related content is genuine or a façade.

Fans were introduced to Connecticut native Tania and her South African fiance Syngin on 90 Day Fiancé season 7. The couple met at a bar while Tania was on a trip to South Africa, and she opted to prolong her journey due to their instant connection. Eventually, the pair decided to take the next step by bringing Syngin to the US on a K-1 visa. The relationship appeared shaky from the start, with Tania leaving Syngin alone in the US for 30 days so she could take a herbology course in Costa Rica. Tania also mentioned on the show that she felt like her ex-boyfriend and first love (not Syngin) was her soulmate. Despite these issues, the couple still moved forward with their wedding plans. While Syngin and Tania appeared happy together earlier this year, both have more recently sparked rumors of divorce through some cryptic Instagram posts and comments.

Reality alum Tania brands herself as a witch-in-training in her Instagram bio, but her actual dedication to witchcraft is questionable based on her conflicting social media posts and her attitude on 90 Day Fiancé. She recently posted a video clip of a full moon to her Instagram, captioned with a note on current astrology and a suggestion to keep a dream journal. The video includes what Tania labels an “orb” floating in the night sky. Followers were quick to comment that the alleged “orb” was actually just caused by her phone’s camera lens, rather than witchy or paranormal activity. Tania (who recently got a proposal on social media) also adds in the caption that she plans to take a “ritual bath” and uses the hashtag, "#fullmoonritual".

Even though she claims to be a witch and has mentioned archetypes of the nature-loving Wicca religion on Instagram, 90 Day Fiancé fans tend to doubt her seriousness. One Reddit user who identifies as Pagan doesn't want her as part of their group. This isn’t the first time Tania has tried to push the laidback witchcraft narrative for herself. During her time on 90 Day Fiancé, Tania dubbed herself a witch doctor after only one 30-day intro course on herbology, irritating many viewers. Reddit users consider her efforts a type of Hogwarts roleplaying. Fans also don’t buy Tania’s calm, “one-with-the-universe” persona when she didn’t seem to practice that outlook in her onscreen interactions with Syngin. Reddit user Miss_Kit_Kat considers Tania a "control freak."

While Tania has proclaimed her interest in witchcraft in the past, it’s possible she’s leaning into her witchy ways more heavily after her rumored split with Syngin. The rituals that she has spoken about might be giving her the comfort that she is seeking during a trying time. Her aforementioned Instagram post also used the hashtag “#burnwhatdoesnotserveyou,” which could be a confirmation of the couple’s breakup. After recent speculation about Syngin hanging out with a new fling, a response from Tania would be warranted.

She did build a negative reputation on the show, so it’s no wonder 90 Day Fiancé fans are skeptical of the spiritual positivity showcased in Tania’s social media posts. Her witchy posts could just be a tool she’s using to help cast herself in a more positive, carefree light in the wake of her rumored marital troubles.
