Mortal Kombat 11 has officially sold over 12 million copies worldwide earlier today, adding up to a total of 73 million sold copies for the Mortal Kombat franchise overall. Following this, NetherRealm Studios Creative Director Ed Boon released an email press release thanking fans for their continued support over the years, stating that he and his studio have “some of the most passionate fans in the world, and we appreciate the support they have shown us over the years.

Given the high praise that Mortal Kombat 11 received from fans and critics alike when it launched back in 2019 and the wealth of additional content NetherRelam brought to the game post-release, it should come as no surprise that MK 11 has been such a blockbuster success.
