RHONY: Dorinda Medley's Rent-Free Apartment At Risk After Firing

Recently terminated star of The Real Housewives of New York, Dorinda Medley, could be at risk of losing one of her biggest endorsement deals. As more and more information surfaces about what exactly led to her removal from the hit Bravo series, Medley might have to start packing up her belongings and preparing for a move out of her pricey NYC pad.

Fans are still wondering what went wrong following recent reports that Medley was "blindsided" by the sudden removal. But, according to some Bravo crew members, Medley was reportedly a "nightmare" to work with and was labeled as a "mean drunk." The New York Housewives franchise is set in the Big Apple and follows the affluent lives of Medley and other women. While Medley has been at the center of some of the drama with the ladies on the show, no one expected that her attitude would continue while off-screen. Bravo staff reported that Medley came off as a "mean drunk" to everyone on set, and her alcohol habits are part of the reason why she was let go. Allegedly, the fashionista was seen being inappropriate both on and off camera, with one producer refusing to return to the show if Medley was going to continue being a part of it. The longtime housewife was deemed as awful, horrific, and mean, with the final straw being her vile attitude during the season 12 reunion special.

Now, following her firing from the hit series, there are reports that one of Medley's big-money deals are at risk. According to Page Six, Medley landed a major real estate deal during her time on RHONY that allowed her to live rent-free in a $10k/month apartment, in exchange for her promotion on social media. Sources close to the situation say Dorinda signed a contract to live in the Tony Oriana building back in 2017. At the time, her move was portrayed on the show as a fresh start for the reality TV widow. The Sutton Place apartment reportedly rented for $9550-$10,240 a month, but Medley didn't pay a dime and instead was able to rent out her East 87th St. condo for $9950 a month. While on the show, Medley's team worked to get the free apartment featured in scenes. “She did a great job getting attention for the place,” said a source. “The property company were very happy with it.”

Though Medley still lives in the apartment currently, it remains unclear if the deal still stands now that she's been fired from the show and won't be able to showcase the pad on Bravo. Sources say the contract only required Dorinda to show off the place on social media, so she might be off the hook. “She’s a very shrewd business person,” another insider said. “She’s very good at leveraging her platform.”

With that said, Bravo has reportedly already begun searching for a replacement that will provide just as much drama on-screen, but a little less theatrics off-screen. While Dorinda was once the shining star of RHONY, her firing may affect her life more than she ever realized.
