Victoria Mahoney, second unit director of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, is in negotiations to direct Paramount's Kill Them All, an adaptation of Kyle Starks' graphic novel. Adapted with a script written by Treasure Island writer James Coyne, the film will be produced by Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec, who are also producing the Tom Clancy adaptation Without Remorse.
THR has reported Paramount has entered talks with Mahoney to direct the adaptation of Starks' Kill Them All. This project will be her big-studio directorial debut. Mahoney began her career as an actress in the early 1990s, appearing in minor roles in Seinfeld and Legally Blonde. In 2012, she made her directorial debut with the semi-autobiographical film Yelling to the Sky before becoming known as both the first woman and the first person of color to second unit direct a Star Wars movie in 2019.
Originally published in 2015, Kill Them All is described as "a love letter to 1990s action movies" and depicts a betrayed murderess and a former cop teaming up to cut down numerous criminals, assassins, and office workers, making their way up the floors of a Miami high-rise to confront a crime lord. Starks, the Eisner-nominated creator of the '80s inspired Sexcastle, is also known for his work on Oni Press' Rick and Morty. Bringing Kill Them All to the big screen will surely be a feat worthy of history-making Victoria Mahoney.
Kill Them All is currently in development and does not yet have a release date.
