America experienced an intense week, filled with protests in response to the murder of George Floyd. Aside from the rising death toll of coronavirus, racial tensions have been at an all-time high. It started with the murder of George Floyd, and that lead to protests, looting and some media figures speaking up against racism and police brutality.
And now looks like some Love is Blind contestants are joining in on the conversations. Race was a major part of what Netflix showed for Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton’s love story. She had never dated a man outside her race, and wasn’t sure how her family would react to it. Luckily, race wasn’t an issue for Cameron, Lauren, or their families. However, Carlton Morton is insinuating that other white Love is Blind contestants have some racial biases.
Over the weekend, Carlton decided to call out some of the former Love is Blind contestants for things they posted on social media. He specifically called out Kelly Chase and a video she posted where she called black people “colored.” He also pointed out that many of his cast mates have remained silent on the matter.
Carlton then showed a series of posts from Kelly’s ex-fiance Kenny Barnes where he tries to justify quoting rap lyrics, and it not making him racist. These posts seem to imply that Kenny has used the n-word when repeating lyrics, and doesn’t think there is anything wrong with it. Another post from Kenny shows him to continue to stand by his opinion, and saying that it’s more the lyrics that are the problem, not him quoting them.
Carlton then posted a private DM that he received. He responded with this caption:
“Hey won’t say anything. They’re TRUMP SUPPORTERS. Yet many featured Black people as pets and accessories for their storylines. “Hey guys look, my best friend is Black.” Girl. Lmao. Ok. Then others are posting with George Floyd BEHIND their photo. HOW THAT GO? F****N CLOWNS!”
This seems to be the quote that Amber Pike took as a sub-post towards her. She responded to this in a car full of black friends, who cheered her own and also made comments about Carlton. She mentioned in the video that she knew Carlton was talking about her, and he should just speak to her directly.
Amber even mentioned that Carlton brought up her abortion and tried to use that against her. Amber accused Carlton of only being on the show for followers and likes, and that his proposal to Diamond Jack on the reunion was set up for attention. Something tells us that this Love is Blind Instagram drama is far from over. We can probably expect to see back and forth posts and lives about this for the next couple of days.
