Power Rangers Time Force Gets a Sequel in SINS OF THE FUTURE

Fans of the 2001 TV series Power Rangers Time Force are about to get a chance to revisit Silver Hills in comic book form, courtesy of the forthcoming Power Rangers: Sins of the Future graphic novel from Boom! Studios.

Power Rangers has flourished in the land of comic books, giving fans glimpses of favorite characters and storylines, while adding to the already expansive Power Rangers lore. Stories like Shattered Grid and Necessary Evil have allowed generations of Rangers to cross paths in ways never before dreamed of. And while Jen and Wes have both made their fair share of appearances in crossover epics (Jen, for example, was central to the Shattered Grid event), Sins of the Future will mark the first time that the pair will have a dedicated narrative outside of their original series.

With Sins of the Future's story coming from Trey Moore (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) and written by Matthew Erman (Bonding), with art by Giuseppe Cafaro (Saban’s Power Rangers: Soul of The Dragon), the creative team are no strangers to the characters. The story promises to revisit the tortured relationship between the team's leader and Pink Ranger, Jen Scotts and Wes Collins, the ancestor of Jen’s dead fiancé in the future, and one time Red Time Force Ranger. Check out the official plot synopsis, and official cover art by Diego Galindo below:

After defeating the villainous Ransik alongside their allies in the time-traveling Time Force, Pink Ranger Jen Scotts and Red Ranger Wes Collins want to try for a real relationship. But without sacrificing their commitments to the Silver Guardians and Time Force, can the two actually make the ultimate long-distance relationship work? When Jen returns from the future, she and Wes are attacked by a mysterious stranger who has dire news - if these two stay together, they’ll disrupt the timeline and change the destiny of humanity! The shocking identity of their accuser sets them on a collision course with an enemy they never expected.

The century-spanning adventures of the Time Force Rangers offer some of the Power Rangers franchise's best storytelling moments. Packed with emotional ups and downs, rivaling things like the reveal of Karone as Astromena, and the Death of Lost Galaxy Ranger Kendrix Morgan. But to say that Jen and Wes’s relationship is complicated is a Megazord-sized understatement. This couple manages to combine Terminator-level time travel craziness and a degree of romantic tragedy that will give anyone familiar with Dr. Who some serious “Bad Wolf” flashbacks. The vast majority of Power Ranger romances have been tempered by their sense of duty, but none of that compares to the trials and tribulations of Jen and Wes. Angsty Teenage romance is a well-worn cliche, but falling in love with your supposedly dead fiance's doppelganger -- only to have said fiance return and act like a manipulative jerk that makes Goldar look like a teddy bear -- surely ratchets the drama up to eleven.

While Power Rangers: Sins of the Future is slated to give the star-crossed duo a shot at an actual relationship, it certainly won’t be without complications. Can these two maintain their commitments to the Silver Guardians, Time Force and still find the time to make their relationship work?  What will this new adventure hold, and how will it affect this history of the Power Rangers as we know it? Only time will tell.
