A lot of people forget about the extraordinary professors at Hogwarts when thinking about the Harry Potter series. However, we know the professors are some of the most interesting and important characters in the films, not just Dumbledore or Snape, but all of them, including Madame Pomfrey.
Whether they are detail-oriented Virgos like Dumbledore, Pomfrey or Umbridge, or sensitive Pisces like Lupin and Trelawney, we've got all of these professors signs, straight from the source.

10 Albus Dumbledore: Virgo
Virgos are known to be smart, detail-oriented, martyrs, perfectionists, rational, and focused. They are earth signs, so they are stable, though Virgos are also notoriously stubborn and convinced they are right. They also like doing things alone, which makes sense for Dumbledore, who set out to defeat Lord Voldemort without divulging what he was doing except to a select few, and never completely. As a martyr, Dumbledore was willing to devote his life to protecting the students of Hogwarts and defeating Lord Voldemort, even willing to get murdered for his plan to come to fruition.
9 Minerva McGonagall: Libra
Air signs are naturally distant, seemingly in their own world. Libras are distant while also being charming, and sometimes, you don't know what's going on in their brains. They are also calculating and clever, just like McGonagall.
Most of the students felt intimidated by McGonagall, who didn't exactly show she cared about them, but she clearly did. Libras care about balance and fairness, and McGonagall is definitely a rule follower, not even making an exception for her favorite students when it came to detention.
8 Professor Sprout: Taurus
Tauruses are earth signs, so it isn't surprising that Professor Sprout, the head of Herbology, is an earth sign. She is also literally named after a plant. Tauruses also care about beautiful things, ruled by Venus, just like Libras, the planet of beauty and love. They love luxury and comfort, which also makes sense for comfortable Professor Sprout, who takes care of a beautiful greenhouse, tending to her plants meticulously. Tauruses are also very stubborn, shown through Professor Sprout's knack for dealing with Mandrakes, the stubborn plants with their fatal cry.
7 Dolores Umbridge: Virgo
Dolores Umbridge, like Professor Dumbledore, is a Virgo. While this might seem shocking to many, there are two sides to every sign. While Virgos are meticulous, detail-oriented, and martyrs, all of these qualities can be either good or bad, depending on the person.
Dolores Umbridge's martyrdom is proven when she'll do anything for what she believes is right, and she uses this reasoning when taking over Hogwarts. Given the state of her clean and orderly office, we can see the effect of her meticulous and detail-oriented nature. Like Dumbledore, she's also very stubborn, and won't listen to anyone if their ideas deviate from her own.
6 Rubeus Hagrid: Sagittarius
Hagrid is the perfect example of a Sagittarius. Sagittarius tend to not enjoy being cooped up and they love their freedom and independence, so it makes sense that Hagrid was the groundskeeper, getting to roam the grounds of Hogwarts, not being cooped up in the castle. They also enjoy pets, so it's no surprise that Hagrid has any number of pets, some more innocuous like Fang, while others, like a giant spider named Fluffy or Norbert the Dragon, are pets that no one but Hagrid could love or understand.
5 Remus Lupin: Pisces
Pisces are highly aware of others, can read their feelings, are compassionate, and are very intuitive. Lupin was the most compassionate of his gang of friends (James Potter, Sirius Black, and Peter Pettigrew) and was always trying to keep his friends in check, making sure they didn't stray too far morally.
However, he didn't always stop them and lived with this guilt and shame for years to come, revealing this to Harry. Pisces are also the dreamers of the zodiac. However, given Lupin's lycanthropy, a lot of his idealism and dreamer nature was squashed, making him more melancholy, leaning into the moodier aspects of Pisces nature.
4 Sybil Trelawney: Pisces
At first we suspected that Professor Trelawney was an Aquarius, given her spaciness and her uncommon ideas. However, Trelawney is a bit more of a faker than she pretends to be, as we figure out more and more through Dumbledore's stories and as such, it makes sense that the highly emotional and mutable woman is a water sign, a Pisces in fact. Pisces tend to be sympathetic to the underdog, which accounts for Trelawney's behavior to Harry; given most of the professors love him, and he's so famous in the Wizarding World, Harry Potter is anything but an underdog and Trelawney has no interest in him.
3 Severus Snape: Capricorn
Not surprisingly, Severus Snape is also an earth sign, though unlike the other three Virgos, he's a Capricorn. Capricorns are known to be stern, hard-workers, persistent, disciplined, and pessimistic. While Capricorns are not knowing for being a feeling lot, they do have feelings they tend to hide underneath their hard shells, believing feelings to be a waste of time when they could be working.
Severus Snape was disciplined and persistent, trying for years to become the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher. Because he didn't know the reason why Dumbledore wouldn't let him have the position, he didn't know the impossibility of reaching his goal, and in the end, he did end up teaching the subject for a year in Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince.
2 Poppy Pomfrey: Virgo
While most of J.K. Rowling's characters have official birthdays, Madame Pomfrey does not, her birth year said to be before 1954, but more information isn't available. As such, we looked into which signs were natural caregivers with a backbone, like Madame Pomfrey. While she could be a Cancer, given her earthy energy and her stability, it seems more likely that she would be a Virgo, stable, attentive, and detail-oriented, as well as a hard worker with a sense of responsibility, she is the perfect caretaker. When students try to visit their friends in the Hospital Wing, she never lets them stay for long, making sure her patients can heal properly. She is nothing if not diligent.
1 Alastar Moody: Aries
Like Madame Pomfrey, Moody doesn't have a birthdate given by J.K. Rowling. He was said to have been born before 1960 in Scotland, but otherwise, there isn't any information regarding what sign he is. Given Moody's quick temper, the fact that he is quick to action, and his passion, it only makes sense that he's a fiery Aries. Uncomplicated and direct in their approach, Aries often get frustrated by exhaustive details and unnecessary nuances; Moody is never one to reveal too much of what he wants to do, annoyed when he has to explain his reasoning for things.
