It looked like it was squashed, but the feud between rappers Kanye West and Drake rages on, as Kanye took to Twitter accusing, among other things, that Drake had threatened him.
Kanye and Drake’s beef began about six months ago as fallout from Drake’s long-standing feud with Pusha T. In May of this year, Pusha T released a diss track, “Infrared,” produced by Kanye, that accused Drake of using a ghostwriter. Drake did not take kindly to the song and the two exchanged insults via social media and increasingly personal diss tracks. Most notably, Pusha’s track “The Story of Adidon” revealed that Drake had fathered a child with former adult-film star, Sophie Brussaux. This is where Kanye came back into the picture. According to Kanye, Drake believes that Pusha got that information from his longtime friend and mentor, Kanye.

Kanye’s latest Twitter tirade began when Drake sent him a request to clear a song, “Say What’s Real.” Kanye took a screenshot of that request and said he still needed an apology for shots Drake has taken at Kanye in various songs. He berated Drake for a while, but it seemed like all had been forgiven when he tweeted that Drake had finally called and “mission accomplished.” But, five hours later, he tweeted out the serious allegation, “Drake called me threatening me.”
Over five hours and 80 tweets, Kanye accused Drake of sending someone onto the stage of a Pusha T show (an incident that landed that man in the hospital), targeting people with mental illness (he alleged that Drake “sent shots” when Kid Cudi was in the hospital) and Kanye also took credit for Drake’s career, claiming that, in his pink polo, he paved the way for “all the weirdos.”
Kanye also found the time to take aim at this own extended family. He called out Kylie Jenner (his sister-in-law)’s boyfriend, Travis Scott, over his latest single “Sicko World,” which features Drake taking a few shots at Kanye. Kanye took umbrage at these “sneak disses” and that a member of his family would allow someone to take shots at him just for “clout.” And apparently when he contacted Scott about it, he was met with more threats, tweeting, “I hit Trav earlier today Now he just hit me More threats.” Neither Drake nor Scott have addressed Kanye’s allegations.
This has been a tumultuous year for Kanye, who was already no stranger to feuds and Twitter tirades. From his support of President Donald Trump to comments about slavery being a choice, he has faced a lot of backlash this year (and maybe inspired a hotly anticipated sequel), but true to his character, that hasn’t slowed him down. Though he announced that he would be taking a break from politics following his much ridiculed meeting with Trump, his latest rant proves that there will be no break from his particular brand drama.
