Former Walking Dead star Steven Yeun has landed a role in Jordan Peele's revival of The Twilight Zone. The Walking Dead alumni is the latest addition to an already stacked cast. CBS will air the show on their All Access streaming service. Production on the series has begun, and it'll premiere sometime next year.
Rod Serling's horror and sci-fi-based Twilight Zone made its initial debut back in 1959. The show was a weekly anthology that aired for five seasons on CBS. Serling's show would become well known for its countless twists and turns that would occur in the third act. Peele's upcoming take on the classic sci-fi series won't be the first time it has been revived, as revivals were also attempted in the 1980s and 2002. This year marked the 59th anniversary of Sterling's beloved series.

According to Collider, Yeun has been cast to play a role in the fourth episode of the series titled "The Traveler". He joins the recently added John Cho (Searching). Jacob Tremblay (Room), Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation), Allison Tolman (Fargo), and Sanaa Lathan (The Affair). Yeun is well-known for his tenure as the resourceful Glenn Rhee on AMC's long-running zombie show, The Walking Dead. The addition of Yeun to the cast continues the trend of familiar faces joining the upcoming revival.
Peele will serve as host, narrator, and executive producer for The Twilight Zone. The original series was known for its weekly stories, and the revival will not break away from that format. Details about the fourth episode Yeun will star in say it will follow a pair of cops and a mysterious traveler. This has been quite the year for Yeun, as he recently was awarded Best Supporting Actor at the Lost Angeles Film Critics Association Awards for his performance in Burning, and also appeared in the highly acclaimed movie Sorry to Bother You.
The Twilight Zone was a series far ahead of its time, and to see it be brought back yet again is an example of the impact the series has had on the entertainment industry. Peele might just be the right man for the job too, since his hit film Get Out was like a lost episode from Rod Serling's series. Serling's remarkable creation has managed to stand the test of time for decades, and only time will tell if Peele manages to capture that same lightning in a bottle.
