Bekah and Danny’s underwhelming performance from last week that tanked their game on The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart left the audience wondering whether their relationship was platonic or romantic.
As we gear up for tonight’s episode of The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart, we can’t help but revisit last week’s cringe-worthy moment, Bekah and Danny’s live performance. They sang The Lumineers’ hit folk-rock song, "Ho Hey" and almost everyone watching, (including fans at home) could sense the duo’s awkwardness. Judges even stated after the performance that it seemed like Bekah didn’t reciprocate Danny’s feelings with pop sensation Ke$ha giving feedback that “the bridge and harmony were shaky” and it seemed like they were still feeling each other out. Contestants also commented about the performance in their confessionals with frontrunner Rudi saying it seemed like Danny got “friendzoned hard.” Yikes.
In the beginning of the episode, the musicians/budding love birds seemed like they were off to a great start. They had already connected with one another and almost every clip of the pair featured them cuddled up to one another in the TV show's new ranch-style mansion. So, when they received the date card, viewers were expecting Bekah and Danny’s relationship to instantly take off - in typical Bachelor style. However, once on the date, the pair clearly seemed to be new friends versus new lovers.

The date consisted of the two meeting celebrity designer, Rebecca Mink, where she styled the couple for a quick photo shoot. Bekah and Danny were giddy throughout the date, but perhaps more excited about trying on the clothes than trying out their new relationship. The date ended with them in the hot tub, where Danny spills his feelings towards Bekah and she basically shuts him down. “It takes me a certain amount of time to develop strong feelings for someone,” she says to a dumbfounded Danny as she sips a glass of bubbly.
Then comes their performance. They’re on stage and unfortunately have to follow Chris and Bri’s heartfelt rendition of Leon Bridge’s “Beyond.” They sat on stools next to each other and tried their best at harmonizing "Ho Hey" and it was (sadly) a total let down. But hey (ho), at least they looked good in their new outfits from Rebecca Mink. Right?
Not only were their vocals and first date rocky, but after their live performance Bekah totally pulled away from a second kiss from Danny. This made it clear to everyone viewing that this relationship was not heading to a fantasy suite. The stiff arm from Bekah solidified their lack of romance with the cameras quickly cutting to the panel of judges cringing. Danny obviously was much further along than Bekah and inevitably that sent the pair home. The couple exited in separate SUVs with Bekah telling the cameras, “I know I let Danny down. I feel so bad.”
The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart airs Mondays at 8pm EST on ABC.
