Pokémon GO: Best Reshiram Raid Counters (December 2021)

Reshiram has been added to five-star raids in Pokémon GO and can be caught in its Shiny form if players are lucky enough to encounter one. Five-star raids are the most difficult raids in the game, so players will likely need at least four other trainers with them to defeat Reshiram. To invite trainers in Pokémon GO, players will need to have them added as a friend, then an invite can be sent once players enter the raid.

Reshiram is a legendary Pokémon that doesn't appear in the wild in Pokémon GO, so players can only obtain it by winning a raid battle. Once the battle is won, players will be given the chance to catch either a Reshiram or a rare Shiny Reshiram. The five-star raids for Reshiram will leave the game on December 16, so players should try to fight in as many raids as possible before this Pokémon disappears.

Since Reshiram is a Dragon- and Fire-type Pokémon, it is weakest against Rock, Ground, and Dragon moves. Players should mainly focus on using Ground- and Rock-type Pokémon, because other Dragon-types will also be weak against Reshiram. Besides focusing on using the right type of Pokémon, players will need to make sure their Pokémon know super-effective moves to have the best chance of defeating Reshiram.

Players will need a strong team with Ground, Rock, and, if necessary, Dragon moves to defeat Reshiram in Pokémon GO five-star raids. With a group of well-equipped trainers, players should be able to win the battle, then they can try to capture Reshiram. To increase the chance of catching Reshiram, players can use a Razz Berry or Golden Razz Berry. The number of chances players get to capture Reshiram will depend on how quickly the raid is won.

  • Rhyperior: Mud-Slap and Rock Wrecker
  • Rampardos: Smack Down and Rock Slide
  • Garchomp: Dragon Tail and Outrage or Mud-Shot and Earth Power
  • Groudon: Dragon Tail and Earthquake
  • Rayquaza: Dragon Tail and Outrage
  • Terrakion: Smack Down and Rock Slide

If players have the right Pokémon but the wrong moves, then they can use Fast TMs and Charged TMs to change the Pokémon's moveset. It may take a few tries to get the right moves, so players should stock up on these items as much as possible. TMs are awarded for completing Special Research Tasks and winning raids. Players looking to catch Reshiram or Shiny Reshiram will need a good team with strong attacks as well as a group of trainers to help them win the five-star raid in Pokémon GO.
