Like most other MMORPGs, Amazon Games' New World is equipped with a trading post system where players can either buy items from or sell items to other players. Trading posts are located in the settlements of each region in New World. After adventuring, players can list the items they collected on the trading post and make additional gold from selling them. Because there are no vendors to sell items to in-game, the trading post is the best way for players to make more money in New World.
Some of the best items to sell on the trading post are actually the most common in New World. As players level up, resources like wood, fiber, iron, and leather tend to sell often due to the high demand from crafters. To collect these resources, players must increase their trade skills, focusing on harvesting, tracking/skinning, mining, and logging. Not only are these a vital part of the game, but increasing the level of each of these skills will also allow players to collect higher-level resources and make a larger profit when selling them at the trading post. The prices that these resources sell for vary, however, from server to server.
After increasing their mining skill to level 20, players can mine Seep Stone for oil, which is a resource that often sells quickly and for a profit at the trading post. Other resources like salt, eggs, and metal ingots can also be sold through the trading post for a decent amount of gold. While exploring the world and collecting raw materials, stopping to harvest herbs will provide players hyssop and a second herb depending on the region they are in: Cinnamon, Dill, Nutmeg, and Saffron can be collected in First Light; Peppercorn, Oregano, and Paprika can be collected in Monarch's Bluff; Garlic, Sage, and Basil can be collected in Everfall; and Thyme and Ginger can be collected in Ebonscale Reach. Each of these herbs tends to sell for a decent profit, depending on the herb and the current prices on the server.
The most reliable item players can turn a profit on in New World are the runes available for purchase from faction representatives. The representatives, in addition to selling armor and weapons to help increase a player's gear score, sell runes used to craft satchels that allow players to carry a larger amount of weight before becoming encumbered. The quality of the runes improves as players increase their faction rank, and runes can be purchased by completing faction missions and acquiring enough faction tokens and gold.
The runes available for purchase in New World include:
- Minor Rune of Holding - rank 1: 1,000 faction tokens and 250 gold
- Major Rune of Holding - rank 2: 3,000 faction tokens and 500 gold
- Greater Rune of Holding - rank 3: 5,000 faction tokens and 1,000 gold
- Grand Rune of Holding - rank 4: 7,000 faction tokens and 1,500 gol
After reaching level 60, it may be in a player's best interest to shift their attention to farming endgame resources like Void Ore, Starmetal, Lodestone, and Suspended Azoth. These items are always in high demand by crafters and are typically the best way to make the most money from selling on the trading post late in the game.
Even with the prices of these items fluctuating and varying from server to server in New World, raw resources, cooking materials, herbs, runes, and endgame resources will make players the most profit. Selling these resources is an easy and effective way to make more money at the trading post in New World.
