Jeremy Renner's criminal businessman Mike McClusky learns that his brother is going to have a baby in this exclusive Mayor of Kingstown clip. Co-created by Yellowstone's Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, the series is set in the titular Michigan town and revolves around the McLusky family, power brokers who make their living off the prison-riddled community and walking the line between gangsters and businessman. Sheridan and Dillon look to tackle themes of systemic racism, corruption, and inequality in Mayor of Kingstown and the family's efforts to bring order and justice to a town that has neither.
The cast for Mayor of Kingstown is led by Jeremy Renner alongside Dianne Wiest, Kyle Chandler, Animal Kingdom's Taylor Handley, Emma Laird, Dillon, Aidan Gillen, Pha'rez Lass, Tobi Bamtefa, and Hamish Allan-Headley. Development on the crime drama was first announced in early 2020, initially beginning at Paramount Network though would later shift to Paramount+ as Sheridan inked an overall deal with ViacomCBS. With Mayor of Kingstown now getting underway on the streaming platform, audiences are looking forward to what's to come from the show.
With just a few days remaining until the show's return, Screen Rant has an exclusive Mayor of Kingstown clip from episode 4. The video sees Renner's Mike McClusky running into his mom, Miriam (Wiest), in town and learning his younger brother Kyle (Handley) is going to be a father, with his mom pleading for Mike to leave him out of his business. The exclusive Mayor of Kingstown clip serves as a nice highlight of the moral dilemma Mike is facing throughout the run of the series in roping his younger brother into the family business. Though the McClusky's work to strike deals with both criminals and law enforcement to keep order in the town, Kyle's position as a cop and as a soon-to-be father is sure to add to the tension in the family dynamic, namely in the wake of Kyle Chandler's death in the pilot episode. With Mike struggling to find a proper balance between the politician-like approach his deceased brother brought to the position of "mayor" and the impulsive nature he's used to as being the enforcer for the family, the reveal of Kyle's partner's pregnancy should lead to a deepening of the conflict between Mike and his mother.
As seen in the first Mayor of Kingstown episodes, Mike has already been presented with multiple dilemmas in the titular position, which has already captured audiences' attention. Only time will tell if the reception grows akin to Sheridan's fellow ViacomCBS series Yellowstone as new episodes of Mayor of Kingstown airs on Paramount+ Sundays.
