Magneto, Emma Frost & Mystique Stun in Gorgeous Connecting Cover Art

The X-Men's Inferno miniseries features four connecting variant covers showcasing iconic X-Men characters Magneto, Emma Frost, Mystique, and Moira MacTaggert. These gorgeous covers are part of a huge event comic that is showcasing the consequences of all the plot threads which have made up Jonathan Hickman's tenure as Marvel's Head of X, bringing his leadership of the reborn line to a close.

Written by Hickman with artwork by Valerio Schiti, R.B. Silva, and Stefano Caselli, Inferno is set to conclude the status quo that was established in House of X and Powers of X, which presented huge revelations, from major resurrections to Moira's status as a mutant who begins her life again on death, and has been working with Professor X and Magneto to change the destiny of mutantkind.

On his official Twitter account, Jeff Dekal showed off the full wraparound of his four connecting variant covers. Each of them features a pivotal character in the Inferno event. Issue one's variant features Emma Frost, the White Queen herself, in a stunning ensemble that's arguably more fabulous than even her Hellfire gala costume. The second issue's variant includes Magneto showing off his powers in a gorgeous display of minimalist objects that are also reflected by the shapes making up his cape.

In Dekal's X-Men Inferno #3 variant, Moira stuns in this depiction of her as one of the puppet masters in this event. Her outfit is giving off high-class Jubilee vibes and the patterns in her jacket, just like Magneto's cape, give the cover so much more detail while remaining minimalist and pleasing to the eye. The final variant gracing the cover of the fourth issue features Mystique showing off her power set, so fans get Mystique as well as some Wolverine-related elements. The blurring effect on her shoulder is a fun way to make her transformation sequence even more artistically pleasing to the eye.

Inferno revolves around Mystique's revenge on Professor X, Magneto, and Moira for secretly deciding that her lifelong love Destiny can never be resurrected. Fearing Destiny's precognitive powers after the villain killed her in a previous timeline, Moira made the denial of her return a cornerstone of her offer to help Professor X and Magneto. Having realized the leaders of mutantkind's new paradise have no intent of returning her beloved, Mystique has instead resolved to "burn that place to the ground." With all the pieces on the board, Inferno promises a reckoning, and the event's major players look suitably imposing in the gorgeous connecting covers.

Dekal previously worked on Marvel Comics such as Iron Fist, Hulk, and Thanos. He's worked on gorgeous variants for other publishers as well, including a Wonder Woman variant for DC Comics and a BRZRKR variant for Boom! Studios. Comic book readers and X-Men fans can get their hands on each issue of Inferno with these stunning variants on the following dates: issue one (featuring Emma Frost) and two (Magneto) are already available, while issue three (Moira MacTaggert) is available on November 24, and issue four (Mystique) is available on December 29, 2021.
