A father-daughter duo dressed up in Halo cosplay for Halloween, using incredible Master Chief and Spartan II costumes that attracted the attention of franchise Co-Creator Marcus Lehto. Halloween is always the perfect time for creative pop culture enthusiasts to show off their costume-designing skills, yet gaming-related cosplay spreads across the internet year round.
Some notable cosplay examples of late saw one person bring Bloodborne's Eileen the Crow to life with an awe-inspiring real-world costume. A couple of months ago, Maul_Cosplay impressed the Days Gone community and developer Bend Studio with his Deacon St. John garb, a look that came complete with a motorcycle styled after in-game choppers. Even canines get in on the fun from time to time, evidenced by two Dobermans who recently appeared in a photoshoot donning Resident Evil zombie makeup. And who can forget the adorable Dachshund that cosplayed as Far Cry 6 companion Chorizo? With a new Halo release scheduled for later in the year, it's no surprise that Master Chief costumes made a comeback for Halloween.
The 20th anniversary of Halo is also right around the corner, so Halloween costumes modeled after the iconic brand made all the more sense for a father-daughter duo who dressed up as Master Chief and Spartan II, respectively. Spartan II's mother, Twitter user Blondiebombshell19, shared a photo of the two Spartans over the weekend. Series Co-Creator Marcus Lehto stumbled across the image this morning, praising the quality of the hand-made attire whose armor plating was made with foam flooring tiles, according to Blondiebombshell19.
Both costumes are nothing short of brilliantly made based on the photo above. The attention to detail looks especially impressive, as wear and tear finishes help to complete the already show-stopping designs. Hopefully, these armored trick-or-treaters were rewarded with more than their fair share of candy on Halloween night.
Halo's 20th anniversary officially falls on November 15, two decades to the date of Halo: Combat Evolve's release on the original Xbox console. Fortunately, Xbox players won't have to wait too much longer to celebrate the occasion with a brand-new adventure in the series. Master Chief returns next month in Halo: Infinite with a new campaign and plenty of callbacks to the brand's more classic installments. The hype surrounding the title's Tech Preview from a couple of months ago suggests players are in for quite the treat come early December.
Halo: Infinite hits store shelves this holiday season on December 8 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
