All Twitter Wants For Xmas Is This Life-Size Lucario Pokémon Plush

Lucario is one of the most beloved Pokémon in the franchise. At the 2020 Pokémon of the Year poll, it came second behind only Greninja. Lucario is a mega-star, arguably the most popular Pokémon of the Sinnoh region, and a powerhouse in the competitive scene.

Knowing about the Fighting/Steel-type's popularity, the Pokémon Company decided to make their fans' dreams come true for this Christmas, and they announced a life-size Lucario plush. Naturally, fans went wild with the news, turning to social media to express their excitement. As always, Twitter got some of the best and most hilarious reactions.

To absolutely no one's surprise, the life-size Lucario plush is pretty pricey. Fans can own it by paying $419.99, and they can expect it by April 2022. In this day and age, $500 for what is basically a toy might seem like a tad much, and some fans are already lamenting the high price.

Take Twitter user @SmartMar603, for example. When given the option, they would live forever, but only to earn enough money to buy the Lucario plush. In all fairness, the burden of eternal life would be much easier with a giant jackal Pokémon, so the user might be up to something.

Yes, the Lucario plush costs a lot of money, but many people will still buy it. The soft and maybe not-so-cuddly plush will make its way into the homes of millions of fans who will pay no attention to the cost, so long as they can have this mighty aura Pokémon in their living rooms.

Take @narutoluvrxox. The plush is worth every penny to this user, and of course, they would spend $400 on it. No word on whether the user will actually go forward with buying the Lucario, but at least they'd be willing to, and that's all that counts.

The Lucario plush came with an accompanying photoshoot to show its massive size. And even though it's one of the most powerful dual-type Pokémon in Gen IV, it can also be quite sweet, as evidenced by the accompanying photos released with the plush's announcement.

The pictures show Lucario accompanying a woman while she does several activities in her home. In one particular image, the plush stands over her as she sleeps, its arms reaching out as if to stroke her hair. Many users pointed the wholesomeness of the photos,  but @larrymatovina might have the best reaction to them.

To the delight of many fans, the Lucario plush is very life-like. Disturbingly life-like, in fact. So much so that someone unfamiliar with the series might get scared looking at it. However, considering Lucario is one of those Pokémon even non-fans of the franchise know, this shouldn't be an issue.

Still, even some fans  are slightly troubled about how realistic the plush is. For example, user @SmallestAura used a hilarious Lucario meme to describe everyone's reactions to seeing just how life-like the plush looks. At least the manufacturers can be proud of a job well done.

When it comes to expenses, people need to prioritize what's necessary. $420 on a Pokémon plush might sound ridiculous to some people, but to others, it's just another day being a fan of the franchise.

User @PIIPPERI800 acknowledges the Lucario costs a pretty penny. However, they also know that there are always ways to get money, even if it involves selling some stuff, a MacBook, for example. Again, this might seem inconceivable to the average person, but the Lucario plush is an eternal companion, and the heart wants what it wants.

Some Pokémon can be pretty heroic, saving people and other Pokémon in need without expecting anything in return. However, others can be somewhat devious -- "evil" even. The Lucario plush seems to fall in the latter category, as it is already breaking hearts and, as it turns out, relationships.

@ChallengerJank, for example, is ready to risk it all for "the Lucario plush that pets (them) while (they) sleep." And it's an understandable decision. Most people don't even pay attention to their sleeping partner, but Lucario does! It even plays with their hair! Take that, significant others everywhere!

There are many wholesome Pokémon but Lucario isn't one of them. The Fighting/Steel jackal is famous for being very intimidating, even more in Generation VI when it received a Mega Evolution and went from "scary but cool" to  "please don't kill the Pokémon you're fighting."

However, the promotional photos for the plush make it seem like the ideal companion. It even helps in the kitchen, as pointed out by user @razzlerendazzle! A huge reason for the franchise's success is fans' desire to live in the Pokémon world and having a life-sized Lucario that helps out with the chores goes a long way to making that dream a reality.

Mariah Carey made a Christmas anthem built around the phrase "all I want for Christmas is you." Those words take a whole new meaning when talking about a 4-foot tall Lucario plush that's $420.

Yes, user @ChelloDello knows this and isn't afraid to admit it. After all, the life-size Lucario would be the ultimate Christmas present for any Pokémon fan. As mentioned, though, the only downside would be receiving it until April 2022. However, it could also turn the otherwise dull month of April into a second Christmas, of sorts.

The Pokémon Company advertising the Lucario life-size plush as some sort of life companion was a choice no one saw coming. And yet, they did, and the pictures speak for themselves. Lucario sits on a table, listening attentively to its owner's problems and it stands vigilant in the corner, keeping an eye on them while they sleep in a completely normal and not-creepy-at-all way.

As user @n0tAntonia points out, Lucario is not just a plush: he's a friend and even a therapist. That $420 no longer sounds so absurd, considering the hours of conversation fans can have with this always reliable friend.

Memes are all the rage and anything and anyone can become a meme. For example, the Pokémon franchise has its fair share of memes about Generation I, and the recently-announced Netflix live-action series also attracted the meme crowd's attention. So, of course, it didn't take long for the life-size Lucario to become a meme himself.

User @Kilumy posted a hilarious meme poking fun at the plush's somewhat creepy photos and its overblown price. In the timeless words of Sheldon Cooper, "It's funny because it's true." And yet, fans will still buy it, and they should, because life is always better with a four-foot-tall gentle Pokémon.
