Evelin Villegas of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way has said and done a lot of questionable things to her husband Corey Rathgeber, and she recently held a grudge against him after a particularly heated dream. Corey and Evelin are far from being a fan-favorite couple from the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, and though Corey gets his fair share of criticism, fans are also highly judgmental of Evelin. She doesn’t always deserve the hate that comes her way, but when she gets mad at Corey based on a dream, Evelin seems more unreasonable than ever.
Corey and Evelin have had several breakups and make-ups throughout the years, and on this season of The Other Way, Corey has been trying to win Evelin back. She felt hurt after he had an affair with a woman named Jenny while they were on a break, and Evelin has been struggling to forgive Corey all season. The couple has come a long way towards repairing their relationship, and Corey and Evelin recently got re-engaged as a way to demonstrate their commitment to one another. In a recent episode of The Other Way, they were on their way to meet with a wedding planner, but Corey’s good vibes were dampened by Evelin’s mood.
Evelin didn’t hold back that she was annoyed with Corey at that moment, explaining that it was all due to her dream from the night before. She said in her dream she saw “the Jenny” and started slapping her repeatedly, before turning her slapping attention to Corey. Evelin said she slapped him so hard it caused her to wake up from the dream in a terrible mood. “I can’t even do anything right even in your dreams,” Corey joked, though Evelin didn’t correct him. This could be just another one of Evelin’s mind games, but if she’s really letting her dreams dictate her mood like that, then it’s not fair to Corey.
The problem with Evelin’s dream grudge is that Corey didn’t do anything new that was wrong. The dream was about his past offenses that Evelin said she had forgiven him for. The fact that Evelin was still so affected by a dream like that indicates that she isn’t over what happened between Corey and Jenny. Evelin may say she’s ready to move on, but her behavior and mercurial mood would suggest that she’s more hung up on Corey’s past than she realizes. It may be that Evelin’s subconscious is looking for reasons to divorce Corey, which could even be impacting her when she’s awake.
Plenty of people have had dreams that make them feel a certain way even after they’ve woken up, but Evelin’s post-dream mood remnants seem to have persisted well past morning. If the 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way star can’t get a handle on her subconscious, Evelin’s dreams will continue to impact her real-life relationship with Corey. If Evelin really isn’t ready to move on, she needs to be honest about it, or else her dreams are sure to remain troubling.
