90 Day Fiancé: The Least Compatible Couples In The Franchise

There have been several odd couples that appeared in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, but when partners are too mismatched, it can lead to trouble in their respective relationships. As the saying goes, “opposites attract.” Most of the time, however, opposites attract divorce more than anything else.

When it comes to relationships, compatibility can come in many different forms. It can be attributed to physical attraction, shared interests, common priorities, similar backgrounds, and more. When a couple is incompatible, the entire relationship can fall apart - and for many 90 Day Fiancé couples, a breakup is inevitable.

Over the years, 90 Day Fiancé has featured quite a few couples that were clearly very incompatible. Overall, these couples mismatched in various ways that took a major toll on their relationship. Not all of them have gone on to break up, but many fans predict it’s only a matter of time before these pairs call it quits.

Nicole Nafziger and Azan Tefou tried their best to make their unconventional relationship work throughout two seasons of 90 Day Fiancé. Though they lasted longer than many fans expected, they did eventually split up. This came as no surprise, as the two were very different people with priorities that didn’t align. Nicole is a mom with lots of responsibilities and wasn’t very interested in exercising, while her boyfriend Azan is very concerned with physical fitness. With Nicole and Azan’s incompatibility, fans are shocked that they stayed together as long as they did.

Though Russ and Paola Mayfield’s marriage lasted many years, the couple is currently separated. This latest separation could be the result of the many differences between them. Paola is a very extroverted and social person, whereas Russ has always seemed more reserved. He’s the type who would rather go to a backyard BBQ than to a club, and his low-key attitude just isn’t a good match for his fiery wife. Paola is also much more ambitious than Russ and pursues many opportunities to support her family. The couple has talked about a possible reconciliation, but given how mismatched their personalities are, it may be time for Russ and Pao to call it quits.

For 90 Day Fiancé viewers, Colt Johnson and Larissa Lima’s marriage was unforgettable largely due to how rocky it was. Even though Colt has said he’s attracted to explosive women, he doesn’t seem to like everything that goes along with a partner like that. Larissa could be extremely volatile, which was a shock for introverted Colt. She also didn’t get along with Colt’s mother, who is a very important part of Colt’s life. There’s also a lot that Larissa wants out of life that Colt was unable to provide for her, so it’s probably a good thing they broke up.

There are many incompatibilities in Angela Deem and Michael Ilesanmi’s relationship, such as their age difference and varying priorities. Michael is adamant about wanting to have kids, which is something that Angela - more than 20 years his senior - is physically unable to give him. Angela’s child-rearing days are behind her, and what she wants from life is far different than what Michael is looking for. The couple is still together but has reached an impasse in their relationship as a result of their many differences.

Brittany Banks and Yazan Abu Hurirah were very mismatched, to the point where it’s almost surprising that they maintained a relationship at all. They were extremely culturally incompatible: Yazan is highly religious and wants to lead a more conservative life, while Brittany is much more of a free-spirited party girl. Brittany also didn’t have the support of Yazan’s family, which was very important to her then-boyfriend. Ultimately, Brittany and Yazan are better off apart.

Compatibility of some kind is essential in any relationship, and these 90 Day Fiancé couples barely had anything in common. It’s not shocking that most of them weren’t able to make it work. Now, some of them have moved on to relationships with partners who are better matches.
