The Vampire Diaries: 10 Times Bonnie Said Everything Fans Were Thinking

Bonnie Bennett provided a steady presence since the pilot episode of The Vampire DiariesShe'll do whatever it takes to help her friends and family, no matter the personal cost. Bonnie's loyalty is one of her defining characteristics, and the bonds she forms with others are for life.

With the Elena-Damon-Stefan love triangle front and center for seasons, Bonnie is an underrated Vampire Diaries character, despite having the most to offer. It can be frustrating being the voice of reason amidst mass chaos, but Bonnie's rationality allows her to speak for viewers.

When it comes to getting what they want, Elena and the Salvatores act like there's no decision to make. Stefan and Damon are especially guilty of this and won't hesitate to throw characters to the wolves if Elena's life is on the line.

While their devotion to the woman they love is admirable, the brothers view other people as collateral damage. Bonnie is right to call them out, as Stefan and Damon blame their actions on a lack of choice, rather than owning up to their decisions.

One of the most infuriating aspects of TVD is the way Bonnie is treated by the people who claim to love her. Elena shows a genuine interest in her best friend's well-being at the beginning of the series, but the two grow farther apart with each season that goes by.

TVD rarely acknowledges the distance between the two, but this quote is applicable to all of Bonnie's friends. They use her to fix their problems and don't contact her until the next crisis comes knocking. Elena and Caroline only realize that Bonnie's been dead for months because they seek her out when they need help.

Kai might be a lovable antagonist, but viewers draw the line when it comes to Damon's well-being. It's never easy to watch the Salvatores take a beating, and Damon is left at Kai's mercy. Thankfully, Bonnie steps in and says exactly what fans are screaming at their television screens.

Bonnie and Damon spend their time in the prison world getting on one another's nerves, but their bickering is clearly how they show affection. Once she realizes that Damon's in trouble, the rush of protectiveness causes Bonnie's powers to return. Although Kai's method isn't the best, he does get results.

For seasons, Bonnie is the only thing standing in the way of Damon's happy ending with Elena. While he makes a vow to always choose her in the show's second season, Damon's relationships evolve throughout the show.

There's a time when Damon would gladly kill Bonnie for Elena, yet Bonnie becomes his best friend in The Vampire Diaries season 6. His hesitance to save her life immediately elicits an outraged response from fans. Damon does give Bonnie a pretty epic apology, but in the moment, Bonnie takes the words right out of viewers' mouths.

Although Stefan's face hasn't been revealed, the dramatic way he enters Mystic Falls High School makes his identity clear. The camera follows him from behind as teenagers stop and stare, and fans can easily link him to the narrator of the story.

Similar to Bonnie, all it takes is a look at Stefan's back to begin forming an opinion of him. As Elena quickly realizes during their awkward run-in outside the men's room, Stefan is just as good-looking as Bonnie suspected.

There's nothing more satisfying than seeing Bonnie finally overpower Kai and take her life back. During their time together, Kai shows Bonnie no compassion and laughs in the face of her misery.

Bonnie spends a good portion of The Vampire Diaries season 6 being tortured by him in the prison world, so when the tables turn, it's cause for celebration. Much to the audience's delight, Bonnie makes sure to taunt Kai and give him a taste of his own medicine. It's difficult to feel bad for a villain who has it coming.

When Damon reveals that he went to college, fans do a double-take. Unlike his brother, Damon seems to care very little about education and is more focused on letting loose and having fun. Thankfully, Bonnie asks the question everyone's wondering, and Damon elaborates on his statement.

Once he explains why he went to school and what he was up to during his time on campus, everything makes a lot more sense. Bonnie's facial reactions to Damon's comments represent the audience just as well as her one-liners.

Bonnie isn't the funniest character in The Vampire Diaries, but she still has a sense of humor. It shines when she's around specific people, but when she's around Caroline, Bonnie usually helps reign her best friend in. Caroline is easy to love, but being bitter is a part of who she is.

Caroline holds grudges over minuscule things when she's much better off letting them go and moving on. Bonnie gives Caroline the advice that fans wish they could and goes about it in a perfect way.

Nina Dobrev's departure from The Vampire Diaries was disappointing to everyone. Whether fans were Team Delena, Team Stelena, or just a fan of Elena Gilbert, it was difficult watching her go. Elena's fate is sealed before the episode begins, but it doesn't stop the audience from hoping for a different outcome.

Bonnie does everything she can to get Kai to reverse the spell and doesn't give up without a fight. Given all the behind-the-scenes elements working against her, Bonnie deserves a round of applause for her effort.

It's easy to see why fans believe Damon and Bonnie are soulmates in The Vampire Diaries, as Damon manages to raise eyebrows on more than one occasion. In the second season, especially, Elena is thought to be Damon's only priority.

He acts as if he doesn't care about anyone else, which causes his concern for Bonnie in the season 2 episode, "The Last Dance," to come as a surprise. Bonnie is just as caught off guard as the audience, and while they still aren't very close, her tone implies that a mutual affection has developed between them.
