Love Hard Trailer: Nina Dobrev Is Catfished In Netflix Holiday Rom-com

Netflix has released the official trailer for the upcoming holiday rom-com, Love Hard, starring Nina Dobrev. Dobrev got her start on Degrassi: The Next Generation before starring in The CW’s The Vampire Diaries, as well as appearing in the films The Perks of Being a Wallflower and the science-fiction drama, Flatliners. In Love Hard, Dobrev plays Natalie, who flies across the country to meet her online crush, only to find out that she’s been catfished.

The new trailer, released courtesy of Netflix, introduces viewers to unlucky in love Natalie, a journalist dissatisfied with modern online dating. Things seem to turn around when she matches with Josh. “As of this moment right now, my disaster dating days are over,” she declares. But when Natalie shows up in New York to surprise her online beau, she meets the real Josh, played by Jimmy O. Yang. To make it up to her, Josh helps to set up Natalie with Tag, the man she thought she had been chatting with, who happens to live in the same town. Check out the full trailer below:

Co-starring is alongside Dobrev is stand-up comic Jimmy O. Yang, who is best known for playing Erlich’s sidekick Jian-Yang on HBO’s Silicon Valley. Never Have I Ever’s Darren Barnet plays Tag, the outdoorsy heartthrob who Natalie hopes to bag. Other cast members include James Saito, Harry Shum Jr., Mikaela Hoover, Heather McMahan, Rebecca Staab, Althea Kaye, Matty Finochio, and Fletcher Donovan.

Directed by Hernán Jiménez, Love Hard is just one film from Netflix’s huge slate of holiday releases. The streaming giant will release 28 projects between November and Christmas Day. Other big-ticket films in the rollout include the Vanessa Hudgens-starring The Princess Switch 3A Castle for Christmas with rom-com veterans Brooke Shields and Cary Elwes, and LGBTQ+ romance, Single All the Way. Love Hard drops ahead of the pack, with the film hitting Netflix on November 5.
