Throughout RuPaul's Drag Race, viewers and judges have been treated to a huge variety of looks from the competing queens. From costumes to runway outfits, some of these looks have become memorable and iconic in their own right, and these include a selection of spooky, horror-inspired looks.
Spooky queens on Drag Race are often memorable for their fantastic gothic looks. Equally, some queens who aren't normally gothic in their aesthetic have pulled off some excellent outfits inspired by horror. Whether the queen is normally spooky or not, these horror-inspired looks have delighted fans and judges alike.
10 Raja - Stand Up Challenge

When it came to the runway, season 3 winner Raja could not be beaten. Flawless and often outside of the box, Raja is perhaps one of the best queens on Drag Race in regards to outfits and a Drag Race queen who could easily compete in Project Runway.
Whilst not a spooky queen, some of Raja's looks verged a little on the spooky side. One look that really comes to mind was the one inspired by the horror movie, Carrie, which was also what her comedy routine was themed around. Whilst she didn't win the challenge, her performance was highly praised by the judges, and that was partly down to her excellent Carrie look.
9 Aiden Zhane - Planet Of The Capes

Season 12 queen, Aiden Zhane, was perhaps, unfortunately, most remembered for her very poor performance as Patricia Quinn in the Snatch Game. But despite this, Aiden showed promise in other aspects of the show and one such example was in her looks.
Aiden's main aesthetic often went to the dark side and her best look was her "Planet of the Capes" runway challenge, which was a stylish tribute to the critically acclaimed horror movie, Silence of the Lambs. Complete with the iconic moth on her mouth, Aiden's look was sleek and delightfully dark, and it received high praise from judges.
8 Sharon Needles - Apocalyptic Couture

Season 4 winner, Sharon Needles, is perhaps the original spooky queen of Drag Race. Turning up in the workroom dressed as a witch, Sharon turned heads and raised eyebrows of her fellow contestants, all of whom initially thought Sharon wouldn't last in the competition because of her aesthetic (especially Phi Phi O'Hara, resulting in one of the biggest beefs in RuPaul's Drag Race).
But Sharon quickly proved she was more than worthy of her place in the show by winning the first challenge, in which the queens had to create an apocalypse-inspired look. Sharon's creation was both haunting and high fashion, making it easy to see why it won over the judges.
7 Jinkx Monsoon - Latina Eleganza

Another winning queen that was underestimated by her fellow queens was Jinkx Monsoon, winner of the fifth season of Drag Race. Whilst not a spooky queen, Jinkx's looks were always a bit quirky and she often thought outside of the box.
One such example was the Latina Eleganza runway challenge. Jinx took to the catwalk in a lovely Day of the Dead-inspired look, complete with sugar skull makeup, which made her stand out from the other queens. This look, combined with her excellent performance in the main challenge, won her the round.
6 Crystal Methyd - Fall Look

Crystal Methyd is perhaps one of the quirkiest queens ever to enter Drag Race. With a bold and colorful aesthetic reminiscent of 1990s Saturday morning cartoons, Crystal listened to the judges' feedback whilst staying true to herself, resulting in a well-deserved place in the final and one of the best growths seen from any queen in Drag Race.
Crystal had a few spooky looks throughout season 12, but it was her Freddy Krueger-inspired look that was perhaps her best. It was not only a kooky yet high-fashion take on the iconic horror character, but it gave both the audiences and the judges a taste of Crystal Methyd.
5 Plastique Tiara - Monster Ball: MILF Eleganza

The Monster Ball challenge of season 11 was a perfect opportunity to see some spooky looks in Drag Race, especially as each queen had to create three separate looks for the runway.
As one of Drag Race's most polished pageant queens, Plastique Tiara naturally did well in the Monster Ball challenge, but she particularly knocked it out of the park with her "MILF Eleganza" look. With subtle yet striking skeletal make-up to accompany her sorceress black dress with some Grim Reaper vibes, Plastique really bought some spooky realness in this challenge.
4 Rosé - Beast Couture

Rosé was one of the season 13 finalists and deservedly so. Despite losing her lip sync at the start of the show, Rosé was consistent throughout, often performing high, never having to lip-sync in the bottom, and winning three maxi-challenges.
One of these wins was the Beast Couture runway challenge, which offered the chance for the queens to deliver some spooky monster looks. There were a variety of looks ranging from cute to scary, but it was Rosé's devil look that stole the show. Painted red from head to toe, it was a well-executed and stylish look whilst capturing the theme perfectly. It helped land her a joint win with eventual season 13 winner, Symone.
3 Eureka O'Hara - Feathers

Finalist of season 10 and runner-up of All Stars 6, Eureka O'Hara has proven herself to be a very strong queen during her time on Drag Race. Eureka is most known as a comedy queen, but she proved she could deliver a variety of looks when called for.
One such example was her Feathers-themed look. Gothic and reminiscent of characters such as Maleficent or The Crow, this spooky look was a bit of an unusual turn for the normally bold and vivacious queen. But it must have paid off, as Eureka was declared one of the top three queens of the week.
2 Asia O'Hara - Mermaid Fantasy

The Mermaid Fantasy challenge is considered one of the best runway categories on Drag Race, as it challenged the queens to try and think outside of the box by taking to the stage in a mermaid tail. One queen that really gave viewers and judges something to remember was Asia O'Hara.
Asia paired a glamorous beaded outfit with a scary fish monster mask that was reminiscent of Creature from the Black Lagoon, flipping the stereotypical mermaid look on its head. Although criticized by the judges, it's without a doubt one of the most memorable and unique Drag Race looks.
1 Yvie Oddly - Monster Ball: Witch, Please!

Winner of season 11, Yvie Oddly certainly lived up to her name when it came to her aesthetic. Whilst she proved she could bring different looks when needed (such as her beautiful Caftan Realness look), it was her strange and unusual looks that she was most known for.
The Monster Ball challenge was right up Yvie's street and she finished in the top three. Whilst her dinosaur look was memorable and entertaining, it was her "Witch, Please!" look that really bought the spooky vibes to the Monster Ball. It was a classic Halloween-style look with a touch of Yvie and perhaps one of the best witch looks of the ball.
