The Requiem Pokémon Duskull will have its own spirited Pokémon GO Community Day on October 9, giving trainers the opportunity to receive free and paid loot, earn more Stardust than usual and potentially catch a red, shiny Duskull. Pokémon GO most recently began its Psychic Spectacular event for Inkay and Malamar, the psychic-type Overturning Pokémon from Pokémon X and Y. The game will also host a Spotlight Hour for Skitty and a Community Day for Oshawott later this month.
Community Days, Spotlight Hours, special Raids, and uniquely-branded Pokémon GO events all spotlight a singular Pokémon or evolutionary line, allowing trainers a chance to focus on catching and leveling up their favorites. Though not at the same dizzying height as the first several months of the Pokémon GO craze, the game's monthly events have helped retain a loyal fanbase of trainers since 2016. This month's Pokémon GO Community Day on September 19 focuses on Oshawott, the Generation 5 water-type starter that eventually evolves into the sword-wielding Samurott. Trainers who participate in the day's missions will, as always, have an increased chance to catch a shiny version of the otter Pokémon, and missions to complete that offer Stardust and other rewards. After that comes the day of the Requiem Pokémon.
Pokémon GO reports Duskull's Community Day lasts on October 9 will last from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m local time. Duskull will appear more commonly in the wild during that time and have a greatly increased rate of appearing Shiny, a far greater chance than trainers would have during the Spotlight Events for Shiny Pokémon like Spoink. Among the day's offerings, trainers can claim 30 free Ultra Balls from the shop, along with a paid Community Day Box consisting of four Incense, four Star Pieces, 50 Ultra Balls, and an Elite Charged TM. It costs 1,280 PokéCoins to purchase the dedicated Box. Pokémon GO has also promised to release more information soon on the "Nothin' Dull About Duskull" Special Research event, which will cost $1 USD. Stardust for the day will have a 3x multiplier, and Incense and Lure Modules will last three hours rather than the usual 30 minutes. For fully evolving the Requiem Pokémon, the Community Day will also give trainers the opportunity to obtain four Sinnoh Stones upon completing the day's Timed Research tasks.
Before Duskull's Community Day, Skitty will feature in a Pokémon GO Spotlight Hour on September 21 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time. The Normal-type Generation 3 Pokémon will spawn at higher rates during that hour, though the modifier for a Shiny encounter will remain unchanged. Thankfully, trainers will still have a greater likelihood of encountering a shiny than they would normally because of the increased spawn rate, and using items like Lures and Incense can help increase that chance. Until then, the legendary Mischief Pokémon Hoopa presents another challenge for trainers. Three of the planned 16 stages for the Misunderstood Mischief Special Research event have been released thus far, and players need only complete those three to fight and catch Hoopa in Pokémon GO.
Trainers should not pass up on the opportunity to have a fully evolved Dusknoir, which has one of the coolest designs of ghost-type Pokémon. Either way, Pokémon GO has several upcoming events for trainers wanting to catch them all, be the very best, or simply train their favorite Pokémon.
Pokémon GO is available now on iOS and Android.
