What Time Ted Lasso Season 2 Episode 1 Releases On Apple TV+

Finally returning to Apple TV+, here's what time Ted Lasso season 2 releases on July 23rd. The Jason Sudeikis-led sports comedy has become one of the streaming platform’s most popular original series yet, with many fans counting down the hours until the season 2 premiere. Ted Lasso also stars Hannah Waddingham, Jeremy Swift, Phil Dunster, Brendan Hunt, Brett Goldstein, Juno Temple, Nick Mohammed and Sarah Niles.

Like season 1 before it, Ted Lasso season 2 will air episodes weekly on Fridays. That means that binge-watchers will have to either wait for the whole 12 episodes to drop or learn to live with watching just one episode at a time. More traditional weekly episode models have been less common with streaming originals, but the structure is coming back into vogue somewhat, with Disney+ series like The Mandalorian and Loki leading the charge.

The Ted Lasso season 2 premiere releases on Apple TV+ on Friday, July 23, but what time will the episode actually start streaming? Unfortunately, Apple hasn’t announced an official launch time, but given how the company has dealt with such premieres in the past, it’s safe to assume that the Ted Lasso season 2 premiere will release at 12:01 AM PT/3:01 AM ET on July 23. That means that many U.S. fans may have to wait until Friday morning or night to catch the new episode.

When the first season of Ted Lasso released in 2020, it became something of a surprise hit. The show’s heartfelt, optimistic tone was a much-needed counter to the widespread turmoil of the coronavirus pandemic, making the series one of Apple TV+’s first big word-of-mouth hits. Now that Ted Lasso has that prestigious reputation, however, season 2 is under a lot more pressure. The question is, can the show live up to its own hype and deliver another stellar entry in the story?

Co-creator Bill Lawrence has also said before that Ted Lasso will likely end after its third season, which has already been ordered by Apple. Due to Sudeikis’ future schedule, additional seasons are unlikely, according to Lawrence. However, Lawrence also said that the series has a full arc in mind for those three seasons, which should wrap up cleanly and satisfyingly for fans. It should be interesting to see what new story wrinkles come about in Ted Lasso season 2, and how it will feed into the show’s impending final act.
