She-Hulk: Jameela Jamil Confirms Casting With Stunt Video

The Good Place star Jameela Jamil confirms her role in Marvel Studios' She-Hulk by sharing a video of her stunt training. Instead of continuing to make Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) the only prominent Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Phase 4 will introduce his lawyer cousin and fellow superhero, Jennifer Walters, aka She-Hulk. The character will be the focus of an upcoming MCU Disney+ series, with Tatiana Maslany headlining the show.

Marvel originally announced She-Hulk's development in 2019 at D23, but it wasn't until late 2020 that they provided more official news on the series. This is when Maslany's casting as She-Hulk was confirmed and where the returns of Ruffalo's Smart Hulk and Tim Roth as Abomination became official. These were the only known cast members for She-Hulk for a while, with Ginger Gonzaga and Renée Elise Goldsberry joining later on. It wasn't until recently that rumors began to spread that The Good Place star Jameela Jamil was part of the cast as well, but that news was not confirmed by Marvel or Jamil at the time.

More than a month after her casting was first reported, Jameela Jamil has finally confirmed that she'll be in She-Hulk. The actress didn't provide any information on who she is playing, but her role involves some action based on how she made the news official. Jamil shared a video on Twitter of her doing fight training for She-Hulk, which indicates that the comedian will take part in some of the show's stunts as well.

Now that Jamil is officially part of She-Hulk and teased her involvement in some fights, the speculation over who she is playing will only continue to grow. There are plenty of rumors that Jamil is playing the role of Mary MacPherran, aka Titania, in She-Hulk. Titania is one of She-Hulk's biggest villains in the comics and her powers include super strength. With Jamil practicing some hand-to-hand combat, it doesn't seem like she'll be another lawyer or someone else who will sit on the sidelines as She-Hulk's events unfold.

It will be interesting to see if Jamil provides more updates on She-Hulk's production as it continues. The filming process has been incredibly light on leaks so far. There has only been a single set photo of Maslany as Jennifer Walters, while another leak teased Ruffalo's Phase 4 return. Jamil must have received the green light from Marvel Studios to confirm her casting with this video, but that might be all she is able to share for the foreseeable future. If that is the case, then at least fans can know for sure that she's part of She-Hulk's cast.
