No Sudden Move Cast & Character Guide | Screen Rant

The No Sudden Move cast is star-studded, so how do you know the main players? Now streaming on HBO Max, Steven Soderbergh's 2021 movie takes place in 1954 Detroit and links the criminal underworld to a real-life conspiracy involving American car manufacturers and technology known as the catalytic converter. The crime thriller was written by Ed Solomon, the co-creator of the Bill & Ted series.

In No Sudden Move, a Detroit criminal named Curt Goynes is tasked with recovering an important document for a Chicago mobster. After realizing that he's being set up for past mistakes, he devises a plan to maximize his profits by playing various gangsters against each other. As it turns out, though, Curt is a relatively minor player in corporate conspiracy.

Don Cheadle headlines No Sudden Move's impressive main cast, along with Benicio del Toro. In an uncredited role, Matt Damon shows up near the end as a well-spoken and scheming business mogul who understands the bigger picture, but there are more people in the cast as well.

Don Cheadle stars as Curt Goynes, a fresh-out-of-jail Detroit criminal who is hired to recover a mysterious document. It's revealed that he's previously stole a "codebook" belonging to gangster Aldrick Watkins. Curt colludes with fellow underworld figure Ronald Russo to blackmail people associated with the document, which brings him to the office of a Detroit business mogul. It's ultimately revealed that Cheadle colluded with Watkins after being released from jail, with the final lesson being that his greed didn't match the greed of peers with significantly more power.

Cheadle portrays James Rhodes/War Machine in the MCU. He's best known for his Oscar-nominated performance as Paul Rusesabagina in Hotel Rwanda, and for headlining Crash as Graham. His other roles include Buck Swope in Boogie Nights, Marty Kaan in House of Lies, and Basher Tarr in the Ocean's trilogy.

Benicio del Toro co-stars as Ronald Russo, an underworld figure who is hired alongside Curt. He's an opportunistic individual but steadily revealed to be someone who always falls one step behind. Ronald is manipulated by several key figures in the movie, including his own mistress. Del Toro portrayed Fenster in The Usual Suspects and Javier Rodriguez in Traffic. He's also known for portraying the MCU's The Collector in Guardians of the Galaxy and Alejandro in Sicario.
