Destiny 2: How to Unlock the Trinity Ghoul Catalyst | Screen Rant

Unlock the Destiny 2 Trinity Ghoul Catalyst to enhance the weapon's combat efficiency. The Trinity Ghoul is an Exotic Arc Energy Combat Bow, capable of clearing out large groups of weaker enemies thanks to its Split Electron Exotic perk. This perk splits the arrow fired from Trinity Ghoul. Combined with the Lightning Rod, which grants chain-lightning arrow shots after a precision kill, the Trinity Ghoul is extremely effective against enemies weak to Arc damage. In addition to its own combat upgrades, unlocking the Catalyst for Trinity Ghoul will Masterwork this weapon allowing it to generate Orbs of Power.

Trinity Ghoul's Catalyst pairs the Exotic Combat Bow nicely with Arc subclass users. Once slotted into Trinity Ghoul, the Catalyst will activate the Lightning Rod perk once an enemy is defeated by Arc damage from any source as long as Trinity Ghoul is equipped and combat-ready. This means that final blows from Arc grenades and melee abilities will activate Lightning Rod, but final blows from Supers and Arc Power weapons, like the Night Terror Sword, will not activate Lightning Rod. Additionally, if an Arc grenade is cast and then Trinity Ghoul (with the Catalyst slotted) is swapped to, Lightning Rod will activate. Lightning Rod remains active until the next arrow is fired, even after Trinity Ghoul is stowed away. After the Catalyst is slotted, body final blows with Lightning Rod arrows will activate the Lightning Rod perk again. Finally, the Catalyst also improves Trinity Ghoul's draw time speed dropping it from 720ms to 648ms - a significant decrease for a Combat Bow in Destiny 2.

The Trinity Ghoul Catalyst in Destiny 2 can be unlocked by playing Strikes in the Vanguard activity Playlist located in the Destinations tab. Similar to most Catalysts in Destiny 2, the reward will be dropped at random by completing the activity or through an Exotic Engram found in the Vanguard Strikes. Trinity Ghoul does not need to be equipped in order for the Catalyst to be earned, but Trinity Ghoul kills will need to be earned in order to activate the Catalyst.

Destiny 2 Exotic Weapon Catalysts always come in two parts. The first is acquiring the Catalyst, and the second is completing the tasks in the Catalyst description. The Trinity Ghoul Catalyst requires players to kill enemies with Trinity Ghoul, based on a percentage of completion equivalent to 400 final blows. Completing Trinity Ghoul's Catalyst can either be achieved by passively earning final blows across Destiny 2 activities or in a short amount of time by participating in the Altars of Sorrow and defeating weaker enemies. The Altars of Sorrow is a public activity on the Moon, and Tier II spawns in many Hive Thralls - the perfect enemy for getting final blows with a single arrow.
