Brittany Banks from 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way has been accused of many things, including buying fake Instagram followers, doing drugs on IG Live, and lying about her past to Yazan and his family. But amidst these many speculations, many 90 Day Fiancé fans feel Brittany and Yazan’s love story has been completely “fabricated” for the show! Here’s a look at why the aspiring rapper from 90 Day Fiancé makes it hard for the show’s viewers to trust her.
Brittany Banks showed up on season two of 90 Day Fiancé to talk about her rapping career and her Jordanian fiancé, Yazan. Unlike most of her TLC co-stars, the 26-year-old Florida native did not meet Yazan, 24, on a dating app. Instead, she came in contact with him when she was visiting her sister in Chicago and the Jordanian’s sister was her upstairs neighbor. Brittany walked in on one of the brother-sister duo's video calls and felt an “instant attraction” with Yazan. Four weeks later, the duo was engaged in Jordan. However, Brittany failed to tell Yazan she was still married. Instead, she kept pushing back her marriage plans and conversion to Islam while she waited for her divorce. With Brittany’s divorce finally granted, she will be visiting Yazan again, but the future of the relationship looks bleak as per her social media behavior. Yazan apparently received death threats from his father due to Brittany’s racy IG pictures, which she continues to post now that she’s back in America. Also, one of her rumored flings, KSlim, accused Brittany of dissing Yazan and Jordan when she dated him in September. Could this mean that the 90 Day Fiancé celeb never loved Yazan in the first place? The show’s fans think yes.
In a post from Reddit titled, “Is Brittany even her real name?” 90 Day Fiancé fans posted several reasons why they feel Brittany may have faked the relationship to promote her rap career. “Brittany just wants to be a celebrity. She broke the fourth wall when she went to hug the crew while they were filming her. She purposely provoked Yazan or that was planned. She’s a total fraud,” reads one comment. Another proclaims, “Brittany and Yazan are the only couple I’ve truly thought might be fake.” A top-voted comment on the post claims they are “100% certain the relationships are fabricated to fill the show roster." On the other hand, a reply notes, “See I can’t understand the basic behind this relationship other than to be on the show. Why would she want to move to Jordan?” The common consensus amongst these 90 Day Fiancé fans remains, as a user mentions, “This is strictly to further her modeling/music career.”
Incidentally, back in June, Brittany posted on her Instagram, “Surprise I didn’t do the show for clout. I did it because some Americans need to watch ’90 Day Fiancé’ and get educated.” More recently, when a 90 Day Fiancé fan posted “Hope you didn’t just ruin that man’s life for some quick fame,” Brittany declared that “nobody on TLC is famous” and that, if she wanted to be famous, she would have dated a rapper or athlete and “not Yazan.”
People are often quick to make judgments about casts of TV shows. In this case, Brittany having already been Instagram famous could have led 90 Day Fiancé viewers to assume that she was, and is, using the show to amass more popularity. On the contrary, it was Brittany herself who alluded to the fact that she used to date "settled" older men, including an 84-year-old before Yazan, adding to rumors about her being a sugar baby. While Brittany’s five seconds of fame may end along with 90 Day Fiancé if she has indeed broken up with Yazan, her possibly getting together with admirer Sojaboy Usman might just secure her some more screen time.
