90 Day Fiance: Why The Reunion Part One Wasn't Worth The Hype

Why wasn't the 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? reunion part one worth the hype. Fans who missed the airing can just delete it from their DVR since no new information was given.

The multiple seasons and spin-offs of 90 Day Fiancé have done extremely well with the network’s fan base. There is something that audiences around the world love about watching Americans get scammed out of money and love by a foreigner. Some actually do find success but the awkward interactions are what fans live for. There are always certain characters that stand out and help make the franchise the success that it is today.

Even though the seasons usually go pretty well sometimes the reunion tell-all specials are a dud and downright boring. In recent years networks have decided to drag them out to more than one episode often making it a three-night spectacle. Each episode is two hours each and quite frankly loses the viewers’ attention.

Zoom is not helping either. The reunions must take place at a safe distance due to the worldwide pandemic but there is almost no control from the host as it becomes a free for all of yelling and internet glitches. On Sunday, the reunion for 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? aired but fans were left disappointed with part one as it failed to inform them of any new information. Fans tuned into to watch the season 5 showdown but were left extremely deflated since the most they got was Colt Johnson and Larissa Dos Santos Lima going at it for the first 10 minutes. All of the couples were tight-lipped with not one revealing any big life updates. Fans did not need to relive the season since they clearly had committed to watching it for the past three months. The couples were asked questions that rummaged back up drama that had already been squashed. For example, Jen Potthast made an appearance just to have a go at Andrei Castravet. Boring! Especially since the family hashed their issues out at the couple’s wedding.

While it makes sense that the TLC network would like their ratings it is a bit insulting that they think their viewers want to spend two hours in front of the TV listening to each couple repeat their storylines. Part two looks a bit more interesting so here is hoping they didn’t show all the juicy bits during the preview.
