Star of Keeping Up With The Kardashians Kourtney Kardashian stepped up amid the drama between Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. Kourtney took two of Kim and Kanye’s children, North and Saint, along with two of her own kids, Penelope and Reign, to Balboa Island on Wednesday while the drama continues to unfold.
Kanye West has been in the middle of many controversies, but his presidential run has taken over the news since the Fourth of July. When Kanye first announced on Twitter that he planned to run for president in 2020, Kim seemed supportive, retweeting his tweet with an American flag emoji. However, since then Kim and the Kardashian family have expressed concern that Kanye may be having a bipolar episode. At his first campaign event in South Carolina, Kanye stunned the crowd with strange revelations, including that he and Kim discussed terminating their first pregnancy and that he would be at peace if Kim divorced him. A rant on Twitter further confused the public, as he claimed that Kim and her mother Kris Jenner were trying to lock him up. Today, reports have surfaced of Kim meeting with divorce lawyers as she simultaneously posted a passionate Instagram story about helping loved ones with mental health issues.
During all this drama, Kim’s sister Kourtney took her niece and nephew on a vacation to Balboa Island, California, as documented on her Instagram. On Wednesday, Kourtney took niece North, nephew Saint, daughter Penelope, and son Reign on vacation. Her oldest son, Mason, and Kim and Kanye’s youngest two children, Chicago and Psalm, were not in attendance. Kourtney posted a lengthy slideshow on her Instagram, showing her and the kids’ various activities. They enjoyed the beach and the sunshine, took a ferry ride, snacked on frozen bananas, visited a candy store. The kids were all pictured wearing face masks, but Kourtney appeared mask-free in photos. The trip couldn’t have come at a better time for Kim. It's just one of many examples of the sisters stepping up to support each other when things get rough. The whole family has been focused on spending time together during the coronavirus pandemic and taking care of their children. Khloé, Kylie, and Kourtney, who all broke things off with their baby daddies, have been spotted spending quality time with their children’s fathers amidst the pandemic. Khloé and Tristan Thompson’s romance was reignited while caring for their daughter, True, during quarantine. Kylie was seen with Stormi and her father Travis Scott last weekend, despite their fairly recent breakup. Kourtney and her kids have been spending so much time with Scott Disick that they’ve sparked renewed romance rumors, although it looks like Scott is back together with Sophia Richie.
You can say a lot about the Kardashians, but their family has always been tight-knit and supportive. Their children are their top priority, and Kourtney taking her niece and nephew away for a day of fun shows that she's sympathetic to her sister's current struggles. Hopefully, the family will continue to support Kim, as it doesn't look like Kanye's issues will be resolved any time soon.
