Captain America 4 Poster Imagines Cap Returning The Infinity Stones

A new fan-made poster for Captain America 4 imagines what an Avengers: Endgame spin-off about Steve Rogers returning the Infinity Stones could look like. Chris Evans was introduced as Captain America in Phase 1 of the MCU back in 2011. Cap was an instrumental part of building the MCU, with the character even getting two more solo movies in 2014 and 2016. Avengers: Endgame seemingly ended the character's story arc, but there is an idea of how his character could return.

Back in May, Red Skull actor Ross Marquand pitched the idea of a new movie centering around Captain America returning all of the Infinity Stones. As fans will remember, the final act of Avengers: Endgame saw Cap traveling back in time to return the Stones to their original timelines. Rogers was successful in his journey but stayed in the past to live out his life with Peggy Carter. Endgame is said to be Evans last time playing Captain America, with the character passing his shield on to Sam Wilson. Most fans were satisfied with the way the character's story concluded, but that hasn't stopped people from imagining what his unseen adventure could look like.

Digital artist Apexform recently shared a poster for a film titled Captain America: Infinity. The poster sees characters that Cap would have no doubt ran into, including Red Skull, Loki, and the Ancient One, along with the clever tag line, "One Last Mission." The artist's original Instagram post can be seen below:

Captain America: Infinity would no doubt bring Marvel fans back to theaters, but it's unlikely the talent involved would return. Evans announced that he was retiring from playing Captain America before Avengers: Endgame was released, and he has since reiterated Captain America isn't returning to the MCU anytime soon. Evans has moved onto other projects such as Apple's TV mini-series Defending Jacob and Joe and Anthony Russo's The Gray Man. On a similar note, the Russo Brothers would also be unlikely to return for another Captain America sequel. While the directing duo believes Cap's time-travel adventure could be a great story, they have previously said that Secret Wars movie would be one of the only reasons they would consider returning to the MCU.

As mentioned above, getting a new Captain America sequel could sell tickets, but it might not go over very well with fans. Even if Evans and the Russo Bros. returned for Captain America 4, it could come across as a quick cash-grab for Disney. Just because Captain America survived Avengers: Endgame, doesn't mean he needs to return for another solo adventure. The way Marvel concluded Captain America's storyline was well-received by fans, so elaborating on how he reunited with Peggy could come across as unnecessary and ruin what many consider to be Evans' swan song to the MCU. That being said, those points still don't take away from the quality of the above fan art.
