Many 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? fans know Colt Johnson shares a strong bond with his mother, Debbie Johnson. Recently, she invited herself to Brazil to check if her son's new Brazilian girlfriend has the right intentions with him. She might not be a part of the main cast, but she has as much screen presence as any other star. Let's get to know some more facts about this unofficial member of the show.
Debbi lost her husband to a heart attack. Since then, the mother-son duo has been pretty tight. They live together, so Debbie knows and vocalizes her thoughts about every girl her son dates. Their closeness was another reason why Larissa and Colt didn't work. Colt's ex-wife wanted to live away from Debbie. Unsurprisingly, the idea didn't sit well with Colt's mother. Eventually, the tension between Larissa and Debbie, along with other issues, led to divorce.
According to Heavy, Debbie is still pretty angry about the domestic abuse her son suffered while with Larissa. The Brazilian bombshell was arrested three times for domestic violence against her ex-husband. Debbie revealed that, although Colt dropped two charges, Larissa is not entirely out of trouble. Debbie said her son still has up to a year to press charges and let the DA prosecute.
We all know how protective Debbie is of her son. Last year, she was infuriated when 90 Day Fiancé star David Toborowsky commented on Colt's domestic abuse charges. He said, "I personally feel like Colt teased her. He brought her to the U.S., he controlled money over her head, teased her with a lot of promises. I have a soft spot in my heart for her. I just think he's a manipulator." Debbie was enraged by David's statement and responded, "David is a piece of sh*t. He is so desperate to stay relevant he will do and say anything to get attention. He doesn't know Colt or Larissa. He doesn't know anything about their life or their circumstances. He is definitely a media wh*re. He can't possibly live without the help of his friend. He needs to keep his opinion to himself. That's all he has to stay in the headlines, his opinion which is as screwed up as he is. Watch out David, karma is still on your a**."
Interestingly, Debbie also has an IG account where she likes to share family pictures. She also posts behind-the-scenes photos from the show and pictures of her three cats. Recently, she shared a throwback picture of herself in which she looked no less than a model.
