Inde Navarrette has been cast in the upcoming CW series Superman and Lois as Sarah Cushing, daughter of Lana Lang. Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch will play Clark Kent and Lois Lane respectively, after being introduced to viewers previously in Supergirl. Superman and Lois centers around the duo as they juggle their daily careers and superhero duties all while raising two children. Though Lois and Clark have been parents to one son, Jonathan, in the comics for some time, the portrayal of them as parents has yet to be done at length on screen.
According to Deadline, the character of Sarah Cushing is a highly intelligent teenager with a wild streak and a somewhat deep and troubled past. She's the daughter of both Lana Lang (Emmanuelle Chriqui) and Kyle Cushing (Erik Valdez). Lana Lang has played a large role in the DC universe both onscreen (Smallville) and in print as the close friend of Clark Kent. It seems the friendship will continue with the next generation as Sarah befriends the Kent sons Johnathan and Jordan in the new series.
Navarrette can also be seen in the upcoming fourth season of Netflix's 13 Reasons Why. She'll be a series regular on Superman and Lois, joining several previously announced cast members. The show will begin production in Vancouver, BC as soon as possible, along with the other Arrowverse properties. The shooting of the pilot for Superman and Lois was delayed earlier this year due to COVID-19.
