KUWTK: Kris's Reaction To Kylie's Illness Is Concerning

The new season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians got to air it's first six episodes last month before taking an understandable hiatus for COVID-19. In an effort to placate fan's anxiety, the family's initial episodes have been jam packed with juicy drama and of course trademark mischief.

Most notably, Kris Jenner has proven to be an especially peculiar character to say the least. Family matriarch Kris maintains the difficult task of holding everything together. But consequently, with the aid of alcohol, that hasn't always gone so smoothly. Kris has exhibited strange behaviors such as vicariously trying to pick up handsome men for daughter Khloe. She also was caught red handed and red wigged in an upscale hotel room during a midday romance session with beau Corey Gamble. But aside from these antics possibly more concerning is her regard for daughter Kylie.

Kris was able to procure a partnership with her daughter's brand Kylie Cosmetic's and designer Olivier Rousteing to collaborate during his Balmain show in Paris. During the show, Kylie was set to make a celebrity appearance and was expected to make the pivotal walk out last at the show's spectacular finale. Unfortunately, the collaboration eventually fell through as Kylie suffered from a severe flu that eventually led to her hospitalization. But surprisingly, Kris was not very concerned about her daughter's health. In fact, she made several comments in regards to the fact that if she were in Kylie's position she would do the show "on her deathbed." After ranting on for a couple minutes, Corey was quick to check the matriarch by reminding her that she needed to switch out of "manager mode" and get back into "mommy mode." But this seemed like a convenient save while the cameras were rolling.

Kris obviously has a lot to gain with the Olivier partnership. This was exhibited through her desperation to further recruit her other daughters in an effort to replace Kylie. Knowing that Kris was to benefit herself from the show, it's quite concerning to see her lack of concern for her daughter's well being. It's almost as if only Kris's motivations to be a big shot were being taken into account. Considering she was willing to expose these behaviors on television it begs questions towards her genuine attitude in real life.

But to be fair to Kris, this wasn't always the case. Later on in the season, Kylie decided to get LASIK surgery to help restore her eyesight. Her mother was as supportive as can be during this ordeal. LASIK is a surgery where lasers are shot into one's eyes to correct certain issues with vision. The patient is then rendered blind for 24 hours after the surgery. Understandably, getting lasers shot into one's eyes can certainly be a traumatic experience. But accordingly Kris was there every step of the way for Kylie. She monitored her daughters appointment, hand fed her food during her period of blindness, and eventually threw her a tacky "eyesight" party for when Kylie recovered.

Although these actions seem to nix the idea of Kris being an uncaring mother, it still begs the question whether they actually were orchestrated for the cameras? But to further support Kris's parenting skills, her daughters definitely seem to really respect and love her which is usually not the case for bad mothers. This was exhibited during the new season when Kim and Khloe decided to throw Corey his own birthday party despite having had past difficulties with him. Some could argue that the party wasn't so much as a gesture to Corey as it was to show appreciation towards their mother. So despite the minor slip up, Kris can probably still be chalked up as a loving mom. In any case, love her or hate her, fans can draw their conclusions by checking out the newest season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
