Disney Family Sing-A-Long 1 & 2: The Best Performances, Ranked

Disney has released two Family Sing-A-Long TV specials to help keep kids entertained and provide a cool family viewing experience at home. In each episode, various actors, musicians, and others who are part of the Disney family sing and/or dance along to Disney movie songs from safely in their homes. In some cases, the videos are made into pretty elaborate productions. In others, the footage is interspersed with footage from the animated movies themselves, or green screens are used to make cool backgrounds.

The words scroll across the bottom of the screen, so kids and their parents can enthusiastically sing along. If you missed both when they broadcast on ABC, they are now streaming on Disney+. Here are the 10 best performances from both episodes, ranked.

10 Bobby Bones, Carrie Ann Inaba, Erin Andrews, & Marcus Scribner – "The Bare Necessities"

The Bare Necessities is one of the catchiest Disney movie songs ever, so it's hard not to sing and dance along any time you hear it. From the film The Jungle Book, this version was performed by these four individuals, all from their homes and while wearing jungle-inspired attire.

It isn't so much the performance itself that was great as it was the song. Amongst a ton of tunes that kids probably didn't recognize or that were too slow and emotional, this one reflected the upbeat mood we need right now.

9 Beyonce – "When You Wish Upon A Star"

How can you have a "best of" list for anything and not include Queen Bey if she had anything to do with it? The pop icon appeared on the show to deliver a heartfelt message as well as sing her heart out to this beautiful song from the movie Pinocchio.

In full makeup with her hair done as if she hadn't been quarantined for months (seriously, how does she look this good all the time?) it no doubt provided a tender moment for every family watching.

8 Michael Buble And Demi Lovato – "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes"

These two are both magnificent singers, but together, it was pure Disney magic. While they were in separate places, they were both on the same wavelength as they sang an emotional rendition of this song from Cinderella.

While fans appreciated the upbeat tunes more than the slow ones, this was one that made everyone stop and stare in awe at their beautiful voices.

7 Little Big Town (& Their Kids) – "A Spoonful Of Sugar"

If kids didn't know this song yet, chances are their parents queued up the original Mary Poppins film, or the remake, to get them acquainted with it after this super sweet performance.

All members of the band Little Big Town sang along with their respective children, each while cooking, baking, and dancing. It was a sweet one that showed these stars in their homes with their own loved ones, serving up their own spoonfuls of sugar.

6 Miguel, Christina Aguilera, & Mariachi Divas De Cindy Shea – "Remember Me"

From Volume II, this performance of the song from the massively popular movie, Coco, was really touching and struck you right at your core, just like the performance did in the movie itself.

Both Aguilera and Miguel are amazing singers, so put them together and it was sweet, sweet harmony that likely prompted many a family to re-watch the touching film once again.

5 Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, Donald Glover, & Walter Russell III – "Hakuna Matata"

There can't be a Disney sing-along of any kind without this song, and indeed, it was included as an opener to the Volume II edition.

Eichner voiced Timon in the 2019 remake of the film The Lion King, Rogen voiced Pumbaa, and Glover the adult Simba, so they were the perfect people to participate. The adorable Russell, meanwhile, played young Simba on Broadway.

4 Seth Rogen – "The Muppet Show Theme"

Who doesn't love the Muppets? Rogen closed the second show by performing the theme song from The Muppet Show, along with some of his furry friends.

It included special appearances from Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, and other Muppets and, undoubtedly, made parents feel super nostalgic as they watched while kids were loving every minute.

3 Kenny Ortega & The Cast Of High School Musical – "We're All In This Together"

Sure, all anyone could talk about after watching this performance was the fact that Zac Efron wasn't there. But that aside, seeing the original cast of High School Musical, along with the cast of Descendants, Zombies, and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series dancing and singing to this fitting song from the film was just perfect.

Not only is the song and its lyrics so perfect for this time and what we're going through, but the performance was, as well.

2 Auli'I Cravalho – "How Far I'll Go"

Wow, does Cravalho ever have a stunning voice! The young woman, who provided the voice for the titular character in the movie Moana, sung her heart out in this beautiful performance.

Hearing her sing, it's hard to believe she's now 19 years old. She still possesses the girlish smile, charm, and innocence that made her the perfect actor to voice the strong, yet sweet Moana.

1 Derek Hough, Hayley Erbert, & Julianne Hough – "Be Our Guest"

Derek Hough and his sister, Julianne Hough, are professional dancers, so it's no surprise that they took this sing along as an opportunity to show off their tremendous skills. Derek danced alongside his girlfriend Hayley Ebert, both in elaborate costumes to match the film from which this song originates, Beauty and the Beast.

Every now and then, the camera flipped to his sister Julianne, who was singing along in costume, as well, from her own home. It's super fun to watch as they cleverly use everyday household items to recreate scenes from the film, making this stellar performance rank in the number one position on our list.
