San Diego Comic-Con Still Set For July | Screen Rant

As of now, San Diego Comic-Con is still scheduled for July of this year. The annual convention, held in California, hosts some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry, bringing together the most passionate fans of comics, movies, and television. The entertainment world has already been hit hard amid the coronavirus pandemic. Other major events like CinemaCon have been canceled, movie theaters have closed their doors, and many major releases like Mulan and A Quiet Place Part II have been postponed.

Fans can breathe a sigh of relief for now, as San Diego Comic-Con organizers, via the convention's Twitter page, announced it’s still set to take place this July. The post first addresses what a difficult time in the world it is, going on to reassure fans hope is still alive for Comic-Con to happen as planned. It continues by saying organizers will monitor the situation and ends with an inspirational quote from the iconic Superman actor, Christopher Reeve. Check out the tweet below:

No further details were given about what may happen if the event were to be cancelled. Fans didn’t shy away from sharing their opinions on the matter, taking to the comments section to urge organizers to either refund or rollover badges to next year’s event. Comic-Con brings together some of the biggest studios in Hollywood such as Marvel and Warner Bros. Right now, all of whom still seem willing to attend this year’s event thus far. Although this is reassuring, the coronavirus has proven to be a very unpredictable force and only time will tell if San Diego Comic-Con 2020 is still a go.
