Former contestant of The Bachelor, Lesley Murphy doesn't think Hannah Brown should be The Bachelorette again. Although fans have rallied behind Brown after a dismal end to her season, Murphy made it clear that the former star of the franchise already had her chance to find love.
Ever since Brown appeared on Colton Underwood's season of The Bachelor, she has garnered a strong fan following in Bachelor Nation. People related to her nerves at the beginning of the season, and enjoyed watching her blossom and find herself while she looked for love. When Brown became the Bachelorette, fans rooted for her success. Unfortunately, her season ended in disaster when she found out the man she got engaged to went on the show with a girlfriend. Most recently, she sparked discussions of a second season as The Bachelorette when she told her third place pick Peter Weber that she wasn't sure if she made the right decision. While fans and other Bachelor Nation favorites have supported a second season with Brown as the lead, Bachelor Nation alum Lesley Murphy doesn't think that sounds like a good idea.
In a recent interview with Us Weekly, Murphy simultaneously praised Brown while making clear her opinion that she shouldn't be the star of The Bachelorette again. Murphy revealed, "She kind of had her time, but I love her because she was super fierce." She continued, "She found her power in the middle of the season and was a great role model for other women to see to find their own power." When asked if ABC would make Brown the Bachelorette again, Murphy said she didn't see that happening.
Murphy first appeared on Sean Lowe's season of The Bachelor, where she vied for his affection all the way back in 2013. When things didn't work out with Lowe, Murphy disappeared from Bachelor Nation for a time before reappearing on The Bachelor Winter Games in 2018. During that time, Murphy started a relationship with Bachelor bad boy Dean Unglert, though their romance was short-lived once filming ended. Since she's very familiar with Bachelor Nation shows, Murphy had plenty of opinions regarding Peter Weber's season, saying that she "love[s] Hannah B. but I think it’s time for her to head out." Murphy continued, "And I don’t think we’ll see her again. I could be wrong."
While a second Hannah Brown season sounds like an enticing idea, fans aren't familiar enough with the women on Weber's season to say that Brown would undoubtedly be the best option for as the next Bachelorette. Brown feels comfortable and fans have developed and emotional attachment to her and they obviously want her to find love and a second season on The Bachelorette feels like the perfect way to do it. However, Murphy is right. Brown had her time and it might be better for someone else in Bachelor Nation to get their shot at finding love.
The Bachelor airs Mondays at 8 pm EST on ABC.
