HGTV's Hidden Potential star Jasmine Roth and her husband Brett Roth are expecting their first child. The home renovation star decided to take cues from her show, the soon-to-be-parents put on hard hats and took a sledgehammer to a tiny ceramic house to reveal the gender of the new baby.
Jasmine and Brett have known each other since 2005 when met while being roommates in college and then the two were married in 2013. The pair decided to travel and focus on their careers before settling down and starting a family. Jasmine founded her own company, Custom Built Homes LLC, which drew the attention of HGTV, who contacted her about having her own show. Jasmine is the star of Hidden Potential, a reality TV home renovation show which helps potential buyers decide on their dream home. Brett and Jasmine are over the moon about having expecting their child and have documented the entire pregnancy thoroughly on social media.
On November 30th, Jasmine went to Instagram to share pictures and videos of the baby's gender reveal party. In her blog about the party, she revealed both she and her husband were both "strangely nervous" despite not having a preference either way. All of the party-goers - friends, and family to the couple - each wore either pink or blue to represent what their prediction was for the Roth baby. Jasmine's cousin Aubree was the"keeper of the gender" and she was in charge of the gender reveal party and keeping the information secret. Check out Jasmine's adorable and clever gender reveal video below:
Jasmine wrote in her blog, "Being able to celebrate this moment with our friends and family also made it SO SPECIAL, and all of us can’t wait to meet her in April of 2020." In the video, Jasmine's cousin brings out a tiny porcelain pink and blue house along with some hard hats, safety goggles, and a sledgehammer. The HGTV renovator smashed the house, revealing a pink cloud of fine dust - the Roth baby is a girl! After the dust settled (literally) the stars were able to reflect on the fact that they are going to have a baby girl next spring, they admitted that the news that they're having a girl caught them a bit off-guard, but they are "beyond excited" and are immediately getting to work to think of some girl names.
The creative idea to smash a little house for the gender reveal was not only adorably fitting for Hidden Potential star, but Jasmine herself said that it was right "on brand" for her life. The couple will be expecting their daughter in April of 2020 and they couldn't be more excited.
