The Rock Delights 100-Year-Old Woman with Surprise Happy Birthday Wish

Movie star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has proven himself even more of a beacon of light and joy, surprising a fan with a brief serenade in honor of her 100th birthday. Johnson was of course a second-generation professional wrestler, following in the footsteps of his father Rocky Johnson. Though initially pursuing a career in professional football, he ultimately debuted in the WWE (formerly WWF) in 1996. He worked within the company for eight years, becoming one of their most prolific and successful performers. He made the jump to acting in 2001, with an appearance in The Mummy Returns, before taking the lead role in the franchise's spinoff The Scorpion King. Despite his Hollywood success, he still makes the occasional WWE appearance - including a highly-anticipated return for the premiere of Smackdown scheduled for later this week.

With his projects earning over $10 billion worldwide, Johnson is one of the highest-grossing movie stars of all time. Equally, he's one of the hardest-working. He was last seen on the big-screen alongside Jason Statham, Idris Elba, and Vanessa Kirby in Hobbs & Shaw - the first direct spinoff from the Fast & Furious franchise. He'll next be enjoyed in Jumanji: The Next Level, which will serve as the follow-up to the surprise 2017 hit, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. He also recently finished filming on Disney's Jungle Cruise. On top of all this, he also stars in and executive produces HBO's Ballers, which will soon wrap up its fifth and final season.

Regardless, Johnson never seems to be too busy for his fans, often interacting and engaging with them in real life and on social media. Posting on his personal Twitter account, Johnson shared the latest example of such acts. Sharing a post from an individual named Jamie Klingler, the actor and producer revealed that he'd honored a request to sing happy birthday to Klingler's grandmother. Turning 100-years-old and clearly a fan, "Grandmom Grover" was floored by the serenade. Johnson declared that he loved seeing it, calling it the best part of fame, before wishing her happy birthday once again. A video of the moment was also captured and shared with the post, which can be seen in the space below:

Johnson has a number of other projects in the pipeline. He's set to star in Netflix's Red Notice. The film will also star Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman 1984) and Ryan Reynolds - who enjoyed a cameo appearance as a CIA Agent (and Luke Hobbs fanatic) named Locke in Hobbs & Shaw. Johnson is also expected to start work late next year on the long-awaited comic book adaptation Black AdamThe DC character has long been a nemesis of Shazam! As such, the solo film is expected to be an origin story and ultimately set up a clash between the two in Shazam 3.

In the U.K., people tend to receive a card from The Queen. The fact that people in the U.S. receive a video call from Johnson will no doubt be the source of much jealousy and a desire to receive similar. It almost certainly won't be the last such generous act Johnson will engage in over the years to come. Regardless, it'll certainly rank as one of the sweetest. It helps to make it all the more apparent why Johnson is consistently considered the top leading man in all of Hollywood and why, just this year, he was given MTV's Generation Award. As such, he'll no doubt win even more fans with this display, and deepen the love of those he already has.
