Walking Dead Season 10 Debut Drops Early for AMC Premiere Subscribers

The first episode of The Walking Dead season 10 is now available for AMC Premiere subscribers, six days before its cable release. The tenth season of the popular show is highly anticipated, and will feature the Whisperer War.

The Walking Dead has seen a number of developments throughout the second half of the year. During Comic-Con, AMC released a trailer for season 10 promising big things, such as Michonne wielding Negan's infamous baseball bat. In regard to Michonne, this is Danai Gurira's final outing as the fan-favorite character, so it makes sense the writers are giving her a notable sendoff. Aside from the main show, fans are interested in the upcoming third Walking Dead series. Recently, it was confirmed to take place 10 years after the zombie apocalypse began, which puts it in the same period as the main show. The Walking Dead universe isn't going away anytime soon. All eyes will be on the premiere for season 10 on Sunday, and some fans can already check it out.

Fans who can't wait for The Walking Dead's season 10 premiere might be in luck. AMC Premiere, the streaming service hosted by the channel, has made the opening episode available for subscribers. The service is available as a free trial for newcomers, and then they can subscribe for $4.99 a month.

While the opening episode is available six days before its cable release, this appears to be an exception. According to AMC Premiere, episodes are available 48 hours before their cable showing, not six days in advance. Another thing fans should keep in mind is that AMC Premiere is only available for those who have AMC in their TV provider of choice's channel lineup. Thus, the service serves as an expanded version of the channel for dedicated watchers, offering episodes early. This means cord cutters are out of luck when it comes to early access though.

It wouldn't be a stretch to say season 10 of The Walking Dead is the biggest yet. Alpha and her band of Whisperers have positioned themselves as one of the show's most dangerous threats. Carol appears to be getting a notable role, and show producer Greg Nicotero teased a smackdown between her and Alpha. Michonne appears to be romantically involved with Ezekiel, which was actually a plot point in the comic book. Negan will be given a role, and based on the Comic-Con trailer, he's going to be helping the united communities in the oncoming battle. The Walking Dead has seen declining ratings, but praise was high for the last season. Season 10 is looking to capture all the acclaimed aspects of season 9, and go even bigger.
