What Time Does The New Captain Marvel Trailer Release Today?

A new Captain Marvel trailer is on the way, but what time will it release online? It's been a wild year for Marvel Studios, releasing two of the biggest blockbusters of all time with Ryan Coogler's groundbreaking Black Panther movie in February and then Anthony and Joe Russo's record-breaking Avengers: Infinity War in April, with Peyton Reed's Ant-Man and the Wasp (which sports Marvel's first female character in a title role) rounding out the year for the studio in June. But now, it's time to look forward to 2019.

Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck are directing Captain Marvel, which stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel (even though that may not be Danvers' Starforce name), along with Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, Lashana Lynch as Maria Rambeau, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, and Jude Law in an undisclosed role (though it's possible that he's playing the Marvel character Yon-Rogg). Furthermore, Captain Marvel also sees several returning faces from (future) Marvel Cinematic Universe movies: Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Djimon Hounsou as Korath, and Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser - and there's much more to be excited for.

It was recently announced that the second Captain Marvel trailer will release tonight (December 3) during Monday Night Football - specifically during halftime. Since not everyone watches American Football around the world, here's a more specific time fans can expect to see the new Captain Marvel trailer online; we expect to see the second Captain Marvel trailer release online around 10 pm EST/7 pm PST/3 am GMT, during halftime of the Redskins/Eagles football game.

Considering that the Captain Marvel movie releases in theaters in early March, it's about time that Marvel Studios released a new trailer for the film; however, it may come as a surprise to general audiences who've been expecting to see the first Avengers 4 trailer released soon. But reports indicate that the Avengers 4 trailer will release this week as well, so this is a smart move for Marvel to build up excitement for that movie even more by releasing another look at Captain Marvel (who may very well appear in the first Avengers 4 trailer as well).

Plus, it's not too surprising that Marvel Studios would release a trailer during Monday Night Football. Since the studio is owned by Disney, all Disney-owned studios have been using Disney-owned ESPN (as well as Disney-owned Good Morning America) as a way to release trailers for blockbuster movies in order to increase viewership/ratings on those programs. It's corporate synergy at its finest, and it works for them. With the new Captain Marvel trailer scheduled to air during halftime tonight, be sure to check back on Screen Rant around the time listed above.
