Marvel Movie Stuntmen Create Live-Action Super Smash Bros. Video

A group of Marvel movie stuntmen are featured as characters from Super Smash Bros. in a live-action take of the classic Nintendo fighting game.

The video coincides with the debut of the latest installment in the franchise, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which released Friday as an exclusive to the Nintendo Switch. The Super Smash Bros. games are known for having an all-star cast of Nintendo icons, including Mario, Link, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Pikachu, and Bowser. Over the years, the Super Smash Bros. series has grown in popularity to a point where the game isn't limited to Nintendo characters. Fans can also play as Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog, Pac-Man, Cloud from Final Fantasy VII, and in 2019 the Super Smash Bros. family will be joined by Joker from Persona 5.

YouTuber Legend of Micah brought together four Marvel movie stuntman to make a live-action Super Smash Bros. tribute video. Avengers: Endgame, Venom, Captain Marvel stuntman Ben Aycrigg plays Mario, while Alex Hashioka from Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War plays Link, and Captain America: Civil War's Matt Scheib plays Captain Falcon. The fourth character, Ness, is portrayed by Tang Nguyen from Hancock. Nguyen is the only stuntman in the group who hasn't been in a Marvel project. Watch the video below.

The video shows the four characters battling it out in a free-for-all, Super Smash Bros. style. During the fight, both Ness and Captain Falcon are eliminated. It ends with Mario and Link being spirited away by a strange light, followed by a cut scene with Kirby from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. This ending could be confusing for anyone who hasn't been keeping up with the new game, which introduces a new story mode called World of Light. World of Light begins with every fighter being blasted by a bright light. Of all the 74 characters in the game, only Kirby survives the attack.

The four characters in the video, Mario, Link, Ness, and Captain Falcon, are all part of the roster from the original Super Smash Bros. game, which included only 12 characters. Their fight is complete with sound effects and narration from the Nintendo 64 classic. It even includes some of the characters' trademark moves, such as Ness' PK Fire, Captain Falcon's Falcon Punch, and Link's bombs, making the video a fun throwback to the first game and a treat for longtime fans of the series.
