Avengers: Endgame Gets New Thanos-Esque Purple & Gold Logo

The official Facebook page for the Avengers movies unveils a new logo for Avengers: Endgame that a sports a Thanos-esque purple and gold color scheme. Ever since Avengers: Infinity War left fans staring, mouth agape, at what they had just witnessed inside their local movie theater this past April, Marvel devotees have been absolutely salivating at the thought of new information concerning Avengers 4. Unfortunately, Marvel wasn't quick to oblige, keeping all official details - including the movie's title - under wraps until just last week, when the hotly anticipated trailer for the newly dubbed Avengers: Endgame debuted online.

Of course, the Avengers: Endgame trailer ended up raising more questions than it answered, such as how Tony Stark will manage to survive being stranded in space, or how Scott Lang escaped from being trapped in the Quantum Realm at the end of Ant-Man and The Wasp. It's still also entirely unclear how dusted heroes like Spider-Man, Black Panther, and Star-Lord will manage to return for their contractually guaranteed sequels.

Those questions aren't likely to be answered anytime soon, as after all these months of secrecy, it's doubtful Marvel Studios and directors the Russo brothers are going to start showing their hand to fans. In the meantime though, Marvel has released a new official logo for Avengers: Endgame, which now sits on the Avengers social media accounts. It resembles the initial logo from the poster that was released alongside the trailer, but is isolated on black, and is colored purple and gold. Considering Thanos' skin is purple, and his battle armor (not to mention the Infinity Gauntlet) is gold, the logo is likely an intentional reference to the Mad Titan. Check it out below.

Outside of the readily apparent Thanos parallels, the purple and gold coloring of the above Avengers: Endgame logo is also drawing some tongue-in-cheek comparisons from fans to the color scheme of the Los Angles Lakers NBA team. Given his imposing size, one imagines Thanos would be a beast on the court, although his tenure wouldn't last long once he opted to snap half the team out of existence. Then again, if LeBron James didn't get dusted, he and Thanos still might somehow get the Lakers to the finals.

All kidding aside, the relative void of substantial information surrounding Avengers: Endgame remains frustrating for fans, although admittedly less so following the release of the trailer. So many aspects of the MCU culmination remain unknown, although at least that's served to fuel lots of interesting and creative fan theories surrounding the project. For now, fans will continue to wait and wonder what the Russos have in store, and hope it doesn't involve anymore heartbreaking deaths.
